So, call me an internet junkie. I enjoy learning random knowledge, and use the internet to help me do that. I do not use the internet for weird or crazy things, just to learn things and meet interesting people, and no not for intimate relationships, I am married. I do it while at work all day in between my tasks. I also use it to help me learn new things about my job. I work in healthcare insurance, which is always changing and something always to be learned. I know there are several people out there who are like this, but does that make me an internet junkie? I spend alot of time with my family and outdoors as well, but when I am home or bored at work, that's what I do. I used to read books, now I read them online, lol. What do you think, do I spend too much time on the internet and is it useless?

It is not necessairly useless, but you should make sure you limit your time because it can cause you health concerns in the long run. From carpel tunnel, to back problems, and vision deficienies as well. If you really like to learn about random information, and giving it to people as well, and learn a small profit from it check out C h a C h a and be a guide. It is a REALLY small profit, but I keep with it just because I learn some new things everyday with the questions and answers that come up.

See, I am bound to my desk from 8-5 M-F, so I really have no choice as to limiting my time on the computer, lol. I used to work in the office and it was worse then. But, now I work from home, so on my breaks and lunch I will do something productive in my house. I just feel like I spend alot of time searching random things, and wanted to see if I was the only one. I do spend time on the computer doing this outside of work, but I don't think my time on the internet away from work is any different then any other's normal time. But, I was beginning to think since I do it during work, maybe I shouldn't do it as much outside of work. Maybe I am just crazy :)

I like the internet as well, and I think that most people who have discovered it do also. However, you have to be careful that you don't let the internet take over your life, as I know of a lot of people who hardly ever leave their house because they spend that much time using the internet. I think that this is very sad as there is a whole other side to life, but these people lose sight of that. You should set aside specific times to use the internet, and also make sure that you put aside things for other activities as well.

Sure, even I, to be honest, I could define myself as an internet dependent. Basically I would say that I am one way or 'another, are always connected. At home via fiber optic, and when I'm out, I browse through the phone. I find on the internet, a great alternative to TV. In fact I just do not watch TV at all. I can find on the net all I want. And if I have to be honest, the most important site for me, is Mylot. In addition to earning for me Mylot is a site where we will exchange. opinions. tips, comments, etc.

As long as you don't spend your entire time online you're definitely not an internet junkie. The fact that you spend time with your family and you also go outdoors clearly shows that you have a sense of balance and you are not in danger of becoming addicted to the internet, like many of us.As for reading online,I think that it doesn't matter too much whether we read an actual book or we read online, what matters is the content of that book, and from this point of view I think the internet has a very positive role because it offers us immediate access to knowledge. If you spent your time playing silly facebook games it might have been useless, but since you use your online time to learn new things and discover new people,it is definitely a great way to enjoy the internet and at the same time make it useful.

i think is not problem, because as long as work and relationship with families is not compromised, you can still do it.

I feel the exact like you. I wouldn`t say you spend too much time on the internet.. You should just be careful because it is unhealthy for your eyes if you just watch at the screen of your computer for hours...

With the development in technology nowadays, I think it is just normal to explore things like this such as internet. Like what you have said, it is great means to learn about things and to meet people. So, I believe that it is not useless after all. However, in everything that we do, a balance must be struck. You mentioned that you still have time for your friends and family, I believe that is good. I, myself spend time online if I have nothing else to do, but I make it a point to enjoy my life offline as well. After all, technology is meant to enhance our way of living, not to replace it.
