A diplomat survives an assasination attempt but is critically injured. To save his life a delicate brain operation has to be done but it can`t be done by normal means as it could be fatal. So scientists design a mini submarine which is shrunk to microscopic size by a powerful ray and with it a special crew of doctors and a nurse. The submarine, including the crew, is injected into the patient`s body and the rest is one of the most incredible films ever made. The film stars Stephen Boyd, Racqel Welsh, Donald Pleasance and Edmund O`Brien. The film was made in 1966 and created a sensation for its special effects. If you haven`t seen it i strongly recommend watching this Sci-fi movie.

I remember this movie and watching it many years ago. THe special effects back then were almost comical to what they would be today. I would wonder what a remake would be like. ALthough I don't care for remakes usually. I wonder if my grandson wouldn't enjoy this movie.

Nowadays we have digital and animation so what you see in 1966 would look a bit trite.Yet the film is still amazing as you are taken on a journey through the veins, bloodstream, aorta, heart,by passing the lungs, and finally the brain. No scifi movie upto now has taken you into the human body, thats why it is unique.

Yes ofcourse but can you imagine the difference if it was made in the last few years. Lots of difference. It was good though.

This is a classic sci-fi movie, one of my absolute favorites! I make time to watch it whenever it comes on TV, which is rare. It's a movie I've often thought I should buy but, because it's such an old movie, I'd have to order it from Amazon or someplace like that and I keep forgetting. I LOVE the special effects, especially in scenes like when the antibodies start attacking the ship and the scientists. Amazing for it's time! Geez, now I want to watch it again.

dear anna, I think I've watched this movie long time ago. I am not a sci-fi fanatic- I prefer true life story and documentaries. Sci-fi is fine and I do watch some movies of its kind when I have no choice :) Good evening
