How do you spend your money?

When you have enough money, how do you usually spend it? As for me, I spend it to buy groceries, pay bills and tuitions.Whenever I have extra money, I put it in the bank so I also have my savings in case of an emergency. I have noticed that some of my friends spend their money not only with their family but also with friends and in shoppings. Because of that, some of them cannot find the time to save money in the bank. I rarely go shopping and I rarely have fun with my friends. I can say that I am a family type of person. I prioritize first the needs of my family before my wants. How about you?

I always do my budget and divide my earnings into few things. Expenses, saving, leisure etc. Shopping and hang out with friends will only take place if I have some money left from the expenses and saving things. If I don't have money left I will surely have no idea how could I go out and buy things I like. But I hate those who don't know how to do monthly and personally budget. They just like to spend and spend~(^^)

There will be no improvement in their life if they have the attitude of spending like they are not going to lose money forever. When I am spending, I think carefully if what I am going to buy is a real need or not. If I have many money, perhaps I can spend some of it to buy what I want. Sometimes, I love giving treats to myself especially after hard days work. Rare are those times. Most of the time, I just save money in case there will be some emergency.

I agree. We cannot force someone to do this or to do that. They are the one who can make the decision of what they are going to do with their money. It is their money anyway. If they can see the good things in our opinion, then its good but if they don't want to, it is up to them.

I always advise them not to spend their money freely. They did the budget but they always don't stick with the goal and end up use more. At the end its their money. I just can give an advice whether they want to follow it or not its up to them.

I usually spend my money wisely I don't invest my money to those not worth to buy. Most I spend so much on food and the rest for my monthly bill.

Wow! It is a wise decision especially in this world where price of almost everything increases. Before we buy anything, we should consider if it is really needed or not. After we made a decision, that is the time we will know if we are going to spend our money or not.

My husband earns more money that I do and we spend his money on the mortgage payments and most of the bills. We spend my money on food and a few bills. The rest of my money we save for emergencies, things for the house and travelling. At the moment we are saving up for a trip so we don't spend much money other things for instanse shopping. We try to save as much money as possible every month in order to pay for our trip. I have taken an extra job because we need more money for the trip. The money that I earn from that job is not spent on bills or food. I keep all it in my account because we are going to spend it on our trip.

I would love to travel too with my family someday. However, since I am the only one who has a stable job as of now, I cannot save money for it. Once my sister got a job, then I think that is the time I can save some extras for our trip. My sister would love us to unwind after busy schedule too. It is a nice feeling giving yourself a treat after exhausted days.

I just spend it on the things that I need. Maybe every now and then, I really just buy something that is just going to be a bit of a treat for me. Other than those things, I just tend to just save the lion's share of what I have left over after the essential things are rather going to be bought. Considering that you never know if you are going to have the money stretched thin, every penny happens. I really don't go out more than I have to, and most certainly only when I really need something. Maybe a few times a year, I'll just go out out of my way for a pleasure trip but if I rather tend to purchase what I need to purchase. In the end, I try and save, because there is one valuable lesson that I have learned throughout my time. It is not what you make, it is what you save.

I love the last line you contributed on this discussion megamatt "It is not what you make, it is what you save." This gives me more inspiration to spend wisely and save more money as much as I can. I also would like to save money so in the future, I can buy some lands. Then, what I am going to do is to let people rent those lots. I want to be a businesswoman someday because I have a dream of being an employer and not just an employee forever.

I am the same- if ever i earn my money- which is in 2 or 3 years from now... i will give it to my parents without any thought- they deserve it..after all they have done for me.. I would give my money to buy and pay for what my family needs.

I always find it very nice and thoughtful to do. I hope that when I have kids of my own and I am already old, they will do same for me. Responsible parents and loving siblings are gifts from God. I treasure all of them.

I will admit that I am trying as much as I can not to spend any of my money at the moment, because I am saving up for an apartment and this means that I am having to save every penny possible to mean that it can happen a little bit faster for me. I am hoping to make a little bit of a career out of property, and this means that the first apartment that I can buy would get me an extra $500 income per month which would be most welcome to me right now. So, the more I cut back and save, the more likely it is that I am going to be able to save enough in order to buy my apartment this year, which I am more than happy about to tell you the truth.

I hope you can buy the apartment this year and I know you can do it. We just have to be firm with our decision not to spend much money and try to save no matter how big or how small the money we have.I would also love to save again money for my dream travel in the future. I already had my savings but because we need money for the renovation of our house, I have to spend it.

The very little money I have goes towards bills. I am living with my parents due to Randy's medical condition and we are fighting with Socail Security Disability. I make a little extra money online, but have not found anything that pays me monthly (i want to make 100-200 a month). I rarely go out. I am going through my stuff and selling what I do not need. I am hoping it will help me out.

I hope that everything will be okay soon. We always have the ups and downs in our life. We cannot deny the fact that money is a necessity but it doesn't mean that money is everything. As of now, we are struggling to for the renovation of our house. I have withdrew all my money in the bank for it. I only have meager amount of money for myself. I know that even how hard our life is nowadays because we have to spend much in the renovation of our house, I know that one time it will come to an end as life is like a roller coaster, right?

Wow, that is good Annierose. I am the opposite of you. I am more fun looking person, so I would spend my money fast on shopping and having fun, after I paid all the bills of course... I need to change my habit I guess, so I can save enough to travel...

When i have money in hand,i will just find a way to spend it.Sometimes with my friends or i will buy something.I am not so good at saving money.Even though i want to save money,i just can't.I will just spend it.If i really want to save money,i will give it to my girlfriend. She will keep it safe.I just can't keep money in my hands.I know it is not a good thing. But even if i try not to spend unnecessarily,i will find myself spending it somehow. But i am trying to change that.

How sweet and trusting you are with your girlfriend... That is very nice. Whenever I get my salary, I give it all to my mother. She is a responsible woman and she knows how to use money wisely. She saves a part of my money in the bank. And then she spent the rest in the house, buying groceries and other necessary things in the house.

Under normal circumstances, I spend my money on computer upgrades, video games or equipment for my music creating. This equipment can be pretty expensive, considering you have to get a lot of software (like digital audio workstations and plugins) and lots of hardware (like audio interface, microphones, monitors, musical instruments etc.)

Wow, it is cool! Are you also making money out your hobbies? I have seen some people who are doing their hobbies and making money from it too. I would like to have that lifestyle which is doing what I love and earning from it.

Same way as you are. And when we use the savings, it will still be for family needs or emergencies. We do socialize with friends, but any expenses for that would have to be within our family budget. Family comes first, then friends and others. I'm not worry about myself, I'm just happy if all my family's needs are taken care of.

We have things in common. I also prioritize my family. I love them. They are always the one who is always there for me whenever I have a problem. I won't replace them to anyone else. They are my treasure that is why I do not feel that sad if I lose the money I have been saving for my future dream which is to travel. I know I can still save money for it. What matter now is I make them comfortable.
