Hi mylot friends. have you ever heard of a hotel that is not following the S.O.P on cleaning procedures? well i have something to share with you. Since I am working on a consultancy firm, in line with the hospitality industry, We have our trainees that we endorsed to a three-star hotel for On-the Job training. After 2 days of training at the hotel, the 3 girls came back in our office asking for them to move to another hotel. the reasons are; 1. The regular kitchen employees do not clean the utensils i.e plates, spoons, forks, glasses and knives. what they do is just soak this utensils in a basin with soap and rinse it without scrubbing them. 2. Our trainees washed the utensils with the regular way you know scrubbing with the sponge and then rinsing it well. but guess what did the regular employees said, "It's just a waste of time girls. We need the utensils right away!" and 3. The kitchen supervisor advised them that at break time, they could take off their uniforms first but then when the housekeeping supervisor (knowing that they are not under the housekeeping department since they are in the kitchen) saw that they are not in their uniforms, she got mad at them and screamed at them "WHY ARE YOU NOT IN YOUR UNIFORMS!". Theses were the complaints of our trainees so what we did is to coordinate with the Human Resource Manager regarding this concerns but as of now there is no feed back with her. so have you experienced anything like dirty utensils? poor service on hotels? share it with me my mylot friends.

Scary thought that the hotel staff are not cleaning those utensils properly. Different disease can be acquired from those - hepa and all. But they should or else their license to operate might be revoked right? that is pretty scary and disgusting. I never really had any experience though..Thank God

it's really gross! as for our office, we cannot comment with that matter nor tell it to the officials. our office might be in trouble. it's because we do not pay them for sending them our trainees. you know we are just asking for their help regarding the on the job training of our trainees. if we complained, we will lose a contact hotel and that will be our loss.

I don't have any experience on a hotel but that's so gross. Hotels are known for good housekeeping, where are they? I have experiences with other establishment who mislead like clinic, at the picture you will think of a nice ambiance and clean rooms but in real life, they aren't and the service are not like heavenly as what they define in description. Anyway, good thing that your trainee reports this to you, it just shows that they are devoted to their profession and they know high quality housekeeping.

yes it's very gross. i was also expecting that in any hotel even if it is two-three star only, they still follow the S.O.P on sanitation. the trainees were very disappointed. they are expecting that they will learn on their OJT that's why they asked us to move them to another hotel instead.
