Our water isn’t working at home.. and it’s driving me insane!! I got up, from the sofa, at 10.30pm last night, filled the kettle, and made my partner and I a cup of tea. Everything was fine. An hour and 15 minutes later, I got up to fill the dog’s bowl with fresh water before we went to bed. Everything, was not fine. The water was yellow-ish and cloudy, and it trickled, and then exploded out of the faucet! It was so bad in the bathroom, that the bathroom sink seemed to rattle and shake. And exactly the same when we flush the toilet, an intense grumble, and then it sounds like the inside of the toilet is exploding! So I rang my Dad and asked what was wrong with it, and he explained that if they are working at the mains somewhere, and turn the water off, that’s what sometimes happens. The solution was to leave the water running all night, and by the morning it would be fine. Well it was not fine. When I went into the bathroom this morning, the water I had left running all night, had stopped, and I had to turn the water on even harder to get the same trickle and explosion.. and it was still cloudy! I then rang the Water Board, who told me that there was no problem at all with the water, no mains are being worked on, and no water has been turned off.. and that I had to try the valve under the sink. Been there, done that, nothing worked. So now they are sending someone out, and it could be anytime between 9.30am when I rang them, and 6.30pm at night.. which I think is a completel disgrace. Water? A basic human right, and I’ve to wait an entire day for someone I pay my taxes for, to come and flush the system, a 10 minute job. Great! What do you think of this?

Oh I am sorry, that is not fun at all. Sounds like you may have a leak in your own pipes that is allowing the 'elements' to leak into the water. You could also have a backup as well which you are right needs to be flushed out by a professional. I hope they come sooner than later for your sake! Till then, stick with the bottled water.

well, apparently it was actually an airlockin the pipes.. and they had to drain out all the air. it's sorted now, but very weird how it happened within the space of an hour lol!
