Capital punishment

Just wondering if any of our My Lotters believe there is any crime that deserves the Capital punishment. Any form of legal death sentence is under consideration. If you believe that there should be Capital punishment would you be prepared to be the executioner? Some of you may live where Capital punishment operates and some may live where Capital punishment has been stopped and think that it should be restarted. So what do we think.

I live where in some states there is capitol punishment. And I am for it! I think that when the crime is so hanous and the perpatrator so psychologically damaged that he will never amount to anything then capitol punishment is the ticket. I don't think it should be used in most cases but there are some that are just so ugly the person who comitted it all shouldn't go on living.

@telmesh- that is the case in alot of the stories and sad. I think the right answer is to rid the family and the rest of us of such people. If they stay alive the family is continually reminded of this shock.
@Hatley- I so agree! More thought needs to be given to the actual crime. I knew an older lady that had a close call by a gang member. She had stopped at a convenience store early in the morning on her way to work to fill her mug. Luckily the proprietor saw the gang member climb into the back seat of the ladie's car. He told her to stay in the store and that he was calling the police. The gang member had to beat up and old person to gain membership in this gang. Can you believe it? I still can't! And in your case I bet the parents knew and was just waiting. I agree with the capitol punishment. I think the punishment should fit the crime. Why do tax payers have to go on paying for these creeps to remain alive? I just can't see it!

I just wonder Hatley and celtic how many people suffer and for different reasons because of one rotten apple.
You are both talking about gang membership which is a very frightening any worrying situation that every right thinking person should be concerned about. How worrying that these youths turn to gangs to give them a feeling of belonging. These families of violence are consuming society in America and latterly in Britain and I dare say other countries as well that are not so widely publicised.
I have a feeling that it starts by children going to schools within a local community and therefore they get the feeling of belonging to a group almost tribal. If you see it like African tribes that are close to one another lunching raids on each other. They also have to do something to prove their manhood.

All crimes against the person are grave crimes. My grandson of 14 was recently confronted by 2 youths backed up by a further 2 who tried to steal his phone and bike. He was lucky that 2 older guys in a car came to his aid. This has left him quite traumatised and it is taking a little while to recover and accept that it is not a common occurrence as most crime is only committed by a few.
It is very difficult to know just where to set the level if capital punishment is to be the norm.

I just fell so sad for the victims..
