okay to bather if you havae your period?

My mom says it is not but i still do, she says it will make the period irregular.. 
and may even hurt...But i have to bathe since i might stink.

I find no problem with taking a bath while on my period. In fact, I take MORE baths. I have horrible, HORRIBLE cramps when I'm on my period, so I spend a lot of time soaking in a tub full of hot water, and the cramps ease while I'm in the tub.
But i think it is a good idea since it is for hygiene.

That is an old wives' tale. All the more you should bathe when you have your period because it is your "dirtiest". I cannot imagine ever not bathing during that time.

Having cramps during those times is normal. Do not worry about it. But, for some girls the cramps is really terrible. My aunt was like that before she got married. She would often be absent in class because of the pain. But, after marrying and giving birth, she does not have cramps anymore.

Your mother is wrong. That is old fashioned thinking. Neither Bathing or not bathing will have any effect on your cycle.

My grandma advised that to me too. I didn't took bath before for some days and I got sick. My dad says not to do that anymore. I think those are not true whether you take a bath or not, the feeling would be the same.
But still,we need to be clean.

When I'm on my period I seem to bathe more during rather than when I'm not on it. True, your period may or may not cause changes in your body's natural PH balance, but I'm sure bathing won't cause it to become irregular. I've been on my period since I was 14, and it's always come every month like it was supposed to. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it. :)

Your mom probably just had something irregular with her cycles and blamed it on her batheing. You need to bathe. Cleaning yourself is never a harm to your body.

I once read that you should avoid bathtubs when you have your period. In the same article it also said that showers were no problems at all. I don't remember the reasons why it was bad to use a bathtub during your period, and I never followed their advice. I like to soak in the bathtub when I have my period, it alleviates the pain, and I have never experienced any problems.
