Ever had a radial nerve block?

Have you ever had a radial nerve block in your wrist? If so, did you encounter any longer term problems? I had one two years ago and unfortunately the needle hit the actual nerve and ever since I've had nerve damage, which gives me electric shocks when I pick things up or clench my fists. My physician told me that it happens rarely and that my nerve was abnormally close to the surface of my skin...I believe him, but wondered if anyone's had a similar experience?

It is very possible with any kind of surgery or needles going into the body to mess up the nerves, veins...etc. Quite unfortunate for you that this happened. Have you asked about surgery to correct the nerve damage?

Unfortunately once a nerve is damaged, it cannot be ''corrected''

I don't know what went wrong, how does a needle accidentally hit the radial nerve? The history of your past illness is to vague; before going to give some impressions about the radial nerve injury.
