Today I visited my mother and she told me about some of her friends who live in Indonesia. They were just planning on spending their vacation in Indonesia, but they fell in love with the country and decided to stay there. They bought a hotel and it became a success. They have lived in Indonesia for many years, they are very happy there and they don't plan on returning to Denmark.
I don't have any plans about moving abroad, but sometimes it seems temping get away from the cold winters and live in a place with a tropical climate
Have you ever thought about staying in a country that you visited as a tourist? Which country was it and why did you feel like staying there?

Hi Porcospino....
Sometimes i wish the same. I mean when i have to sweat a lot due to hot climate and cant stay a while without air cooler, at that time i wish to live at cold countries like Switzerland or Australia and so on. I know, i cant fulfill it but still i wish sometimes.lol
Have a nice time.

It is funny that you dream about a country with a cold climate, because I live in cold climate and I dream about a tropical climate
In the winter I always wear a big coat, a scarf, a a warm hat, gloves and big boots, but it is still very cold and it is not nice to be outside. I only have one thought in those situations - I want to get back to my house as fast as possible! When I get back to my house turn up the heating, wrap a blanket around me and make a hot drink. I can't really imagine what it is like to like in country like yours where you have a to use an air cooler. I don't own an air cooler, but I couldn't live without my heaters

Hi, Porcospino!!! As an Indonesian, I welcome you to my country and enjoy the beauty of it!
I think your mother's friend live in Bali and if they do, I would not wonder why they chose to stay and why they can get successful by buying a hotel!
And after you make a visit to Indonesia, especially Bali, I'm sure you would understand why they made such a decision.
Well, as for myself, I've never been anywhere before. That's so sad. I really want to go abroad but I haven't got the chance yet. Well, maybe someday, I don't know. And if there is a country where I can feel really comfortable living in, maybe I would love to stay. Actually I really want to live in the US, Turkey or Italy. I don't know, those countries have occupied my mind since I was young.

Yes, my mother's friend live in Bali
I hope that I will get the chance to visit Indonesia in the future. The pictures look very beautiful, but I am sure that it is much more interesting to visit those places in person. I would like to spend some time travelling around in Indonesia, and I am thinking about visiting Malaysia and the Philippines on the same trip, but it will take a long time before I get that far. So far I am still saving up for my first trip to Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam)
I hope that you will get the chance to visit the countries that you are interested in. You mentioned the US, Turkey and Italy. I have never been to the US or Turkey, but I love Italy. I used to live there in the past, sometimes I miss that time, and I want to go back to Italy for a visit

But Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam are sooooooo close to Indonesia!
Indonesia is also in Asia, so why don't you take the trip as well?
And thank you for your wish. I do really hope I have the chance. And I believe you miss Italy. I watched "Eat, Pray, Love" and it makes me crazy in love with Italy more!

In 1983 i waent to Muscat,Sultanate of Oman, not as a tourist but to work in an architectural firm.I was there for 4 years and it was the best period of my life.I fell in love with that country and when i had to leave it i had tears in my eyes.Unfortunately even if somebody stays there for a long time one can`t become a citizen. You can stay there as long as you have a job, otherwise you have to head for home.Life was very good though one had to work hard. There was no taxation so one got 100% of what one earned. In those days it was boomtime and there were plenty of jobs. But now the situation is different and no jobs are available.

It was interesting to read about your time in Muscat. I know the name and I know where it is, but aside from that I don't know much about the place. I am happy to hear that you really enjoyed the time that you spent there. I didn't know that it wasn't possible to become a citizen there. No taxation that sounds a amazing. I am from the country where we have one highest tax rates in the world. Some people only keep 30% of their income, the rest of the money (almost 70%) goes to taxes and it is hard for me to imagine a country without taxes, but of course it would be very nice to be able to keep all of the money that you earned.

I don't plan leaving my country either. Sometimes it seems tempting to move to a country with a hot climate, but my family and most of my friends live here so I am probably going to stay.

Hi, Porcospino, I've never thought about this as a real possibility. But in my dreams I'd like to move to a place with a hot climate when the winter comes in my country. The best thing would be to move back and forth but of course this is only a dream.

I dream about the same thing, because the winters in my country are very cold and sometimes spring and autumn are cold, too. Yes, it would be great to move to hot country during the winter, but I will never be able to afford that so that is just a dream. I am a little jealous of people who live in a hot climate, but my friends who live in tropical countries dream about seeing snow and they think that the weather in their countries is too hot

Somewhere around the Mediterranean that sounds like a good place to live. I dream about that when I want to escape the cold climate of northern Europe. On the other hand my family and my friends all live in Denmark, and I am probably go to stay here, but sometimes I miss the Italian climate (I have lived in Italy)

Well, I know my Brother many yrs. ago when to Scotland as a Youth Evangelist from his church, and met his future wife there, and now has been living there for about 15 yrs. and very Happy. I am sure when god told him he should go there, he never thought he would live there.
For me it would really depend, but if things ever worked out that I felt I would need to stay there and live, etc. it would have to be with God's guidance but hoping I would be happy there as well.
