Hello Mylotters, I am a Masters Student and I want to know some practical information regarding a simulation software, peersim. It was a peer to peer simulator which uses both cycle based and event based methods for generating simulations and the programming language java is used for the stuff. I am planning to do a project based on peer to peer video streaming, any suggestions?

I have some knowledge of computing, but I only vaguely understand what you're getting at. I do know that packages hardly ever do all you want, so I'm glad to see yours is Open Source. Try http://www.bcs.org - I know BCS is always worth a look and our UK government have paid dearly for not consulting them in the past, about, e.g., the NHS mammoth system. On the other hand, I'm only too familiar with peer to peer dissimulation (And that not restricted to the UK House of Lords)!

Java libraries aren't the only ones you could search for helpful objects. Smalltalk is functionally equivalent.

ya most of the simulators are opensource and oversim is the popular among them with OMNETPP interface, but it works with C++ language..

What's the difference between the two when it comes to actual code? I can't imagine that the creators of oversim will have been reckless enough to use address pointers? Of course, a Java program is more likely to be truly oops in its construction.

Well it definately sounds interesting and could work very well if the right time and software was put into it. Would it be based off of individual words in the person's response to what the other peer would say back?
