What would the world be like without cellphones? Personally, I think people would be more aware of their surroundings and would be able to listen a lot better than when you have a cell phone in hand or even in your pocket while you are getting texts. I think, possibly, the world wouldn't be as reliable on their cell phones and the internet and would be more connected with real life things and people. What do you think? Do you think cell phones are a good thing in today's generation? respond! i need feedback :)

I remember the days before cellphones very well. I really loved talking to people face to face and planning days to see the them again. Sometimes I did this on my home land line or in person. Being aware of your surroundings is a must. Driving without the distraction of a cellphone is safer. Cellphones have made life convenient; but they should not let us be consumed by lack of attentiveness to the need to be polite or careful.

I hope people can understand this. Relating to people is done without distractions you can control.

I believe cell phones have made people less social! Like you said, more frequently people would ask each other things face to face. Now we all have an excuse not to.

The intention of mobile phone has helped us to communicate with others eaisly with cheap rates. There are many cell operators who provide us calls as well as many other facility at low price. This is the one of the significance of communication through mobile. Years before we people were not able to communicate eaisly. There was on cell phone or other communication facilities but still people find other methods to do it. Really intentions of mobile had helped the people to do them eaisly at a fair cost.

Yes I agree. That is a pro of cell phones. Being able to reach each other at a good cost. :)

It isn't that long ago that cellphones weren't available! Then, you could instantly recognize the lunatics, drunks, and junkies on the streets. Today everyone is talking to themselves! Or so it seems. It's fashionable to act like a lunatic!

There are perks and price with any technological advances that we take and this includes the use of cellphones/ mobile phones. It was just a few years ago when cellphones in our country were not much of a big deal and the only cellphones available were the big block ones that were prepaid. Anyways, social interaction was better in terms of getting to know people but I have to say that even though the sense of not being able to be too much aware of our surroundings and our personal connections with people and friends, cellphones had brought us closer with people whom we thought we won't be hearing from anytime in the future like old classmates, old friends, relatives that live miles away and all those people who were at one time a part of our lives. Also, communication is way faster with the use of cellphones. We get to be able to send a message across as soon as we just thought of them and translated them into a message to any friend we were supposed to be telling them to. Meet ups and appointments are more convenient and easier to make than before. I honestly would like to say that I do miss those times when cellphones were not that much of a big deal, but again, I also like moving forward and embracing the truth that my parents, my friends and others are always just a text or call away.

Back in those days when there was not internet or cell phones, I would suffer from the huge telephone bills due to long distance and overseas calls. Some members of the family are living on the other side of the world. Cell phones and internet have made it easy for us to communicate. The cell phone has become an indispensable object in my pocket because of the advantages of communication. The internet has provided me with a means to earn a living. Both the internet and the cell phone have their disadvantages but I believe the pros outweigh the cons. The only disadvantages as far as I can see is the abuse in the use of these technological advances. If we use these things responsibly, I don't find any reason why we have to go back to the early ages of snail mail and traditional telephone lines.

I definitely agree! Everything has pros and cons. In this case, Cell phones could be both harmful and helpful. I think telephones have definitely impacted a big amount of the world.

For me, I think that world would be totally empty without those gadgets or devices. Yes, we can listen and watch our surroundings but we cannot hide the truth that we badly needed technology in this generation since it's very useful in communication.

When I was growing up we had a telephone attached to the wall in the kitchen. when you needed to call someone you had to turn the crank on the side of the phone. Our number was one long ring and 4 short rings. Sometimes when we called the neighbors would listen in on their phone so they would know what we were talking about. We had one old lady on our phone line who knew more about our business than we did! I still don't have a cell phone!

The problem isn't the phones , but the people who are using them irresponsibly. As annoying and troubling as these devices can be, the have also saved numerous lives http://zboostyourlife.wi-exblog.com/2010/10/20/real-stories-how-cell-phones-have-saved-lives/ and there are many more stories to add to those ones.

Nearly everyone has cellphones now,we even cannot choose not to use it,for lots of inconvenience will make us crazy. Sometimes we miss the time that we communicate by writing letter. When cellphones are not popular, we treasure every chance to communicate with our faraway parents, but now we even feel there is no need to call them unless there is some urgent matter. Cellphones draw us closer, but separate us from heart to heart. We cannot choose to live in a world without cellphone again, but we can focus on real emotions, real real love, and real world.

As with all technology that makes life easier, society loses some of it's old values. I don't think the world would be a better place without cell phones, but I admit people need to use them more responsibly. A better question would be, how would the world function without the internet?

I think the cellphones and internet like a double-edged sword. They prompt people's communication on the surface, but at the same time, they also expand the distance between people. Thanks to the cellphones and internet,we don't like contact with each other personally.Nom we prefer to communication with each other on the internet, but at the same time,we obtain much more free.
