I was about to be late this evening for work.
I overslept. I have to. I didn't quite get enough sleep yesterday as I attended the meeting for my second job. I have to since I'll be working with a team for series of events.
This time, it is my first time to take a cab. I got money from the machine then off I go to the streets. This great taxi driver did assist me; I gave a poker face as for what I'm always doing when demanding and gave him that direct demand that I'll need a fast ride because I'll be late.
And the driver did. He gave those fast twists as he turns the wheels and in a matter of 2-3 minutes, I was there. Normally when I walk it to work it's like 25-35 minutes but it only took me almost 5 minutes as I time about it.
I know I was a bit on budget but I didn't bother paying Php20 extra. The person deserves a tip. He did save me from further humiliation in the office (another tardiness/ late for me and I'm dead for sure) and the guy did a great job like giving me a thrill in a race track.
Are you giving tips or extra incentives for those crew who have given you a great experience during their work or into your work? Repaying a job well done is extraordinary, right? Let me know your thoughts.

If I am satisfied, then why not? I am so scared to be late to work, I will be fired at any time, from my boss, but now I am doing a felxible job, I am not scared anymore.

[If I am satisfied, then why not?] Quoted. Love it.
If you're satisfied with the taxi driver's service; you should pay additional ^_^-) Do you also give the same for waiters who serve your food fast and accommodate you every step of the way and gives you a great dining experiences?
I want to hear more about you regarding services and giving tip to them.

resy21curapika ...Yes I tip and feel it's appropriate when another has gone out of their way to help or even of they just give good service. Many with low payig jobs count on tips and try hard to earn them and I am happy to help them out.
I would suggest you get more than one alarm clock...set each for 5 minutes later than the other...being tardy is stressful and can lead to trouble. Good luck..get 3 or 4 clocks if that is what it takes...

I can't although I have 2 alarm clocks already.
It could be because of my 3 existing works. I have to adjust my sleeping hours then ^_^;;)
But thanks for your advice, I do really appreciate your advice about getting 2-3 alarms as the same thing that I'm doing.

Sometimes, I do, but most of the time not.
I do give tips when I am satisfied with their service.
Eating in a restaurant, I dont giv any tips. Why? Looking at the receipt, I can see that the VAT (value added tax) is already 12% of the total amount to be paid.
Another, one of my co-workers had worked in the said business as service crew/waiter. She said that tips will not go to them. It will be still collected by the establishment. None of it will be going to their salary. She also said that whenever a customer tried to give them tips, they will refuse and tell that it is better not to give tips on them because nothing will proceed to thir pockets.
Just want to add, they are other countries that look for tip as an insult to them. I just don't remember what european country is that.

I'm not saying You should tip, that's your choice, but VAT is NOT anything to do with a tip..It's a government sales tax imposed on goods and services.
Having visited In the US,you will see a price ticket on an item,or on a Menu...when paying at the register,You will find sales and state taxes are then added on top,so the price is inflated above the sticker price.
VAT in the UK is included on sales tickets and on Menus. If you are VAT registered (a trader, for example) You can claim VAT back for expenses incurred in your business.
Many people will pay their bills by bank card, and some might ask to "round up" the bill to the nearest £5 or £10 to give a tip..Some places will not permit this,as the credit processing facility offered for customers is a business expense, and it will cost the business money to process these tips, only to lose out again in passing it on to the staff.
So,Staff are told to tell Guests this is not possible..but if they'd like to leave cash, that does work..Of course,Some people are paying by card as they'd have no cash with them...so, despite a willingness to tip,the lack of a facility to do so means no tip will be left..

Maybe you should get two alarm clocks to wake you up so that you are not late for work again. I would be worried if I continued to be tardy that I would be fired!

rewardsinlife ..I always use more than one alarm clock if it is imperative for me to be up at a certain time...like catching a flight etc... I am usually good about waking up on time and do not oversleep..but when something very important is happening, I use my cell phone alarm in addition to my regular alarm...I just set it for 5 or 10 minutes later than the other clock. Makes me feel more secure and helps me fall asleep faster...

I have 2 already; one from my cellphone with 5 chances of ringing every 5 minutes and one which is the analog (traditional beeping) clock with manual switch at the back. Maybe I need to add more. LOL
I have to admit but from the way I'm seeing it, it centralized to my probability of tardiness in this topic and not through the tipping to other's effort. I would consider your advice but I want to know more about your feedback regarding this circumstances in rewarding someone else's labor :)
Thanks for the advice and happy mylotting~!

Whenever I used cab to get me somewhere I always make it a point to pay extra 10 pesos, most especially if they are extra kind. 20 pesos is too big for me, I only have limited budget for cab fare, but 10 is just fine. Yet,in the event that the cab driver is a bit rude, I only pay the exact amount that is shown on the cab's meter.

I do leave a tip or extra if I consider ÙI was given good services. Like you if I was pleased, and they went over nad above I will leave a little. Now if its bad service I wont leave anything. If they do an ok service but Im not overly happy I give them a poor poor tip. I remember I use to get paid a lot of tips at my one job in a coffee shop. But we had to split it with everyone else on the other shift because it was unfair that they didnt get tips and we did.
