Sometimes 24 hours are not enough

Daily activities - Picture describing daily activities I have to do

Hi friends: This has happened to you too? At least this is my case. Sometimes I feel that I have too many tasks in my work, too many project and things to do that I say to myself: Oh God, 24 hours are not enough, I want to finish everything but I can't! I am a very methodical person. I plan my schedule so I have a plan with all the activities and in these cases I try to give a priority to the things I have to do and do the most important things and try to finish all but if I can't, at least I have done my best. But really, sometimes, have you felt that you need like 48 hours to complete all the things you need to do in your day? ALVARO

hi! can be frustrating at times, right? hehe yeah happens a lot to me, too. when i'm busy at work and i wanna get things done and wish i could cram everything in one day. but we can't. it is what it is. just 24 hours. no matter how good we are at planning, sometimes time just don't play as nice when we need it to be longer. lol i'm sure many feel and experience the same. unfortunately, sometimes because we have schedules to meet and certain priorities to focus on, our "play time" or time to socialize suffers. rest and sleep time will be robbed. we grab our meals instead of enjoying them. we have a quick chat instead of a leisurely talk. ughh i could name several things that become less of a priority when we are too busy to take our time. and i tell you, even if you were granted 48 hours, sometimes it still wouldn't be enough. hehe like you said, even if you can't do everything... at least you did your best. and that's all we can do about it.

time, among other things are never within our control. we can only try to manage. hehe yeah, just do what you can for the day and leave the rest for another day.

Hi myles narvaez: The description you just have made it's so me. I want to plan everything in my job and sometimes it works but some other times, when you have too many tasks and things to do, things just doesn't work that way and it could be frustrated but there must be a reasonable point when we say: that's enough for today and we continue tomorrow. We can't control everything. ALVARO

Hi myles narvaez: I think that's the problem with people like me. We are too perfectionist and we would love to have everything in control which is just impossible to do. I'm working on this to be more relaxed and don't feel bad when I just can't do everything I'd love to. ALVARO

Sometimes, I do feel the same too. With too many task to finish, 1 day is not enough. What I did that really helps me is to make a list of things that needed to do for the day. This makes me motivated whenever I slashed out task in the list. When I haven't finished the whole list, I just put it on the next day. This also makes me organized on my work and helps me focused on single task. Good day!

Hi asdomencil: That's actually one of the techniques that works the best at least for me and that I remember to use. However, I have to say that these last two days I have been too busy that I haven't finished all the things I have to. Hopefully tomorrow I'll finish all the things I have to do and my life will be normal once again. ALVARO

Hi asdomencil: I like this strategy and I think that's the way we can put things giving priority and making from the most important things on the list to the least important and letting somethings that we just couldn't do for the following day. ALVARO

You are right, some of the things in the list might not be able to be finished but still, you will have an organized manner of doing your tasks. In case you haven't finished those in the list, just put them in the first of the task for the following day. Like you, I just wish that my work will be normal again. It is really hard to work thinking that there are many tasks needed to be finished. Sometimes, it came into my mind that I hope I can have unlimited energy and can be awake for more than 24 hours just to finish all those stuffs. Good day!

They say for the things we really want to do in life that we will find the time. You know, there is nothing wrong with telling others who make demands on your time, No. One thing I know, people with lots of friends can't satisfy all their requests. As long as you are a good friend, they will understand. Remember, a well rested, well fed person can get much more done than one running wide open, sleepless and hungry. I have experienced this. Do nothing 1 day out of 7. Get your sleep every night and eat healthy. You might just discover it all gets done after all.

Hi bird: You are right on the fact that we should take care of ourselves. I take one day off and I think I care for my health. The point is that no matter how organized you are, there are moments where you can't do everything you were supposed to do in your day. ALVARO

Yes, sometime we feel the time has never seemed enough to be able to fulfill everything we want. But for me, i then always try to realize, that no everything in life that can we varry out, and certainly that not all the wishes we can get....take a priorities!

Hi fitriade: I fix some priorities in my day, I make a list and I work on it. It's somehow frustrating however when you can fill all the things you have planned for your day simply because you just couldn't. Then you just have to let it be. ALVARO

Hi vidhyaprakash: You are right. Even if we are feeling this way we have to end up saying that we have to administrate our limited time as best as we can to use it taking care of our priorities. ALVARO

Hi laken: Well almost everyday when I have to wake up to go to work, I wished I could go back in time to sleep more because I know I won't have time to do it for the rest of the day. I am trying to sleep at the right hour. At least I could do it right yesterday. ALVARO

Hi lady: Studying might be hard because we have different things to do and all of them are mandatory but at the same time it can help people to understand and value their time. Sometimes we have to sleep not properly to fulfil with all the assignments. I remember my school times but if we are working for what we really want it worth it. ALVARO

yes, sometimes 24 hours isn't enough to keep us going and do things we have to do in a day... but time to sleep sometimes can't be counted in this. some people tend to be awake just to fill in their jobs neede to be done, isn't it? we just have to maximize our time sometimes. do multi tasking if it can be done...

Hi annavi: Oh yes, I am also talking about the time we dedicate to go to bed and recover. Sometimes when you have so much work to do we have to sacrifice the valuable time of sleep. In these occasions I wish I could have more than just 24 hours to do all I have to do for my day. ALVARO

Hi annavi: Yes it is and it's almost impossible to compensate these hours we spent on working and we have lost. Too bad for my health but sometimes sacrifices are necessary when we are studying or working. ALVARO

I have felt like that for this whole year. I also know that if I do not take breaks from the tasks that I have to accomplish that I will completely burn out and end up making mistakes that can cost me even more time. My school year is almost over, and I will have some time to just relax. Until then 10 and 15 minutes here and there are all I am getting to breathe.

Hi asyria: That's one of the best parts of being at school, that you can count on vacations so even if there are some moments where you feel the pressure you know you just have to give your best to have your grades and then enjoy your vacations. ALVARO

I have felt that way before. It is not a nice feeling. I still sometimes need more hours in a day to accomplish things. But sometimes we have to put our hands up and give up. Let it go. Then we need to restart. Life is not on a schedule.

Hi inertia: That's so truth. Even if I feel stressful when I can't do everything I want on my day, you can't control everything and if for some reason you were too busy, you have to deal with it and let some things to do for the next day. ALVARO

Exactly. I have that happen to me some days. But in the end it all works out. The worst part is the feeling of stress we have when we cannot accomplish those needed things, but when we finally get to them and finish them we feel so much better.

When I was still working, yes, I get to feel that way on certain times of the month. I, too, am very organized and I know how to set priorities. However, there are just certain tasks that can only be done at certain times of the month, and sadly, it has to be completed all together, so it adds up to your daily routine. I even stay for more than 12 hours in the office just to get things done. It's crazy, but I somehow got used to it. Good thing, it doesn't happen everyday.

Hi jure at home: I agree with you. This specially happens at some days of the month where you have more tasks to do and all of them are important. Selecting our priorities is a good tool but even with that we sometimes need to do some sacrifices to do everything at the time. ALVARO

I couldn't agree more with everything you've said in your discussion. It seems as if there are never enough hours. Sometimes, they day may seem as if it's going by slow but before you know it it's time to go to sleep. I, myself, find the afternoons the longest and the morning usually flies by for me. It always seems to be that on a day where you have a lot of events to attend to/errands to run/people to see & never ending things to do, are usually the days you feel pressured into not having enough time. It is hard to stay on top of everything that's for sure!! I think it's good you plan out your activities, especially if you're a busy person. Makes it a little bit easier to stay oraganised without freaking out! All I think you can really do, when you have a lot to do certain days, is try to be and work efficiantly and getting all the more important things (or things that may take longer to do) done earlier in the day if possible, (unless it's an appt. or an event planned for later that day) that way if you can't finish everything, you can either finish what you didn't the night before the next morning. And if you saved all the smaller/faster things to do 'till the end, then some things would be easy to do right quick in the mornings! Best of luck, hope you find the time for everything!! :P Hope to chat again in a future discussion!

Hi Tashh: I am working on it actually. The description you made is very me. At least on these last days when I have so many activities to do in my job, I feel too busy, there's always something to do that I can't explain how fast the time goes on from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. I try to be as much organized as I could be to try to cover as much things as possible and it works most of the times. ALVARO

Well, by the sounds of it, you're doing all the right things! That's probably the best way to do it is to stay oraganised like you said. Sorry I took so long to reply. Hope everything is still going smooth and maybe these summer days will help give you a little more time/daylight to get everything done :)

Yes! I want time to sleep, and relax with friends, and work, and just have time to myself. Sometimes I feel like there's not much time in the day at all, like it goes in lightening fast speed. Then again, there are some days where the days seems so slow (like they'll never end) and it seems like I have too much time!

Yes sometimes we do feel 24 hours are not enough. When I was working around two jobs long time ago I though I need more time so that I can sleep and to rest in life. I think it is a part of life. No situation is permanent. One day we will be working very hard and another day in part of our life we will enjoy the life. We work hard to plant small plants and we will be happy eating the first fruits from it.

well, I have to agree with you. sometimes even three days aren't enough for accomplish some tasks in a small amount of time. sometimes, there are times that I feel I haven't accomplish enough because all the takes wasn't done yet. But of course. there's another day and still a ton of work to do. I do organize my work every time and sometimes, I try to modify it as I do my task's. It takes a lot of will to be distracted but it happens just the same.

Hi jeanney vonne: I agree with you and I guess that the only good thing about having a limited amount of time is that we have to learn to manage our time and to know what are our priorities and if even with that we still have things to at the end of the day we have to let them for the next day. No matter how important our job responsibilities are, we have to know what are our own limits. ALVARO

Hello starsailover, I also always think if i had 30 hours day but i know that too would have been waste as then too i won't be able to extract time for myself. Its hard to come out from the work and invest some quality time for me and my family. On the contrary i feel it happens with all of us and it depends on person to person how they manage their time and emerge as winners.

I used to make time table for my studies. I used to fix time for each of the subjects. Sometimes i cannot complete my works in my time. At this time i feel really sad but i will do my best to complete those works in my time table and i used to feel that 24 hours is very less to do my works in time. It will be very since when it is 24+ so that i could complete my time table quite eaisly. I felt this when i was an child but now i feel 24 hour is great enough to do my works. Regular timing and pratices made me to the things in right time.

Hi the wonder boy: You made me remember how I was when I was at school. I really like to have a table and put the things I needed to do at the right times. I love to have this kind of order in my life and actually I keep this habit for the rest of my life. I make a little list with the things I think I have to do everyday. And it works for me. ALVARO
