i gave my kids bonamine so that won't get stomach upset and gets sick while on the bus so they won't vomit...i gave it an hour before leaving... but guess what? it didn't work! They end up vomiting on our way to the province and boy it was the most painful part of the whole vacation, lol it really stinks! but well kids are kids, when we arrived they seem to forget the whole vomiting situation and end up alert when we arrived at my father's place! on our way back here in the city, same thing happened, but well with the stench of vomit we went home all smiling still.

Oh I know how you feel. I used to take Bonamine every time I travel because I really get the worst air-sickness. Though there have never been a time when I really puked but I still get air sick. Until one time I decided not to take it at all, and I was fine. Do your kids really have motion sickness? Did they eat much before the vacation? I usually would get very sick if I ate too much. Which is why I don't eat much or pretty much nothing before the plane ride. I'm fine with other sorts of vehicles, just the plane. I think my air sickness is due to the oxygen mix they use and the smell of the plan altogether. Anyhow, it's good that you still had good vacation after. Perhaps giving them something to make them sleep would be best. My friend gave her kid drowsy meds when we traveled so that the kid could just sleep through it, it worked. They consulted their physician about it. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Oh, so drowsy medicines also work, i am not aware of this though, i might ask our pediatrician the next time we travel as it was really a big hassle! They actually ate dinner, plus was eating some snacks on the bus...and it all was out the moment the bus moved. It was really unpleasant. I do not get dizzy but i was more worried for my kids though..

If it is like the buses I used to ride, there are fumes that make you feel ill as well as the motion. My oldest grand daughter used to get sick every time her parents took her on a long trip until they learned not to feed her in the vehicle, only to eat when she could go and eat properly. Maybe sucking on some peppermints would help though, if your kids really think they need a snack.

It's a good thing you still got to enjoy your vacation despite the bad trip your kids had. I always take anti-dizzy tab when ever I travel, bonamine always works for me as well as dizzy tab. Either of those 2 works fine with me and I really don't feel dizzy all throughout the trip, but I always feel hungry afterwards and sleepy so I can't really enjoy my first day of vacation because of the effects of those meds.

My daughter also feel sick when she traveled when she's still young. I never gave her food when we travel, so that she never ends up vomiting.

Hi jazel I too feel horrible in a bus. Though I dont vomit but there is nausea and headache. I have a better remedy for avoiding the vomiting thing on the bus - use a lemon. Bit into it when you start to feel that "vomit" thing and it helps. Not sure about the how and why of this but I have tested it on me and even seen many bus travelers do this specially when they travel in the mountains or hills.

Yes, bonamine does not work for all. I remember when I was younger I have this motion sickness and when we had field trip my mother always give me bonamine 1 hour before travel time. But it does not work and so I always end up vomiting and dizzy. Anyways, I have overcome that sickness and I am used to travelling since we had our car. I read about how to prevent getting sick while travelling. One solution to vomiting is never drink cold water before travelling that I find very effective. Also, motion sickness is due to the contrasting reaction of our eyes and ears so the best way to overcome it to have an earphone and listen to music. You can relax your eyes by just looking a very near object in front of you.

Sometimes, taking these medicine really doesn't help. I used to have this kind of sickness everytime we travelled when I was still a kid. One tip that my wife told me is not to take any cold beverages before travelling. This will resulted into vomiting even you took bonamine. Hope next time you travelled, don't give your kids cold water and beverages.

Yes, they are just having this called "travel sickness". I used to get this too even travelling in a short distance, about 11 km, riding on a public utility vehicle. But now, I am already adapted to travel. I'll just sleep to get ri of it.

Ginger, or ginger ale, or ginger tea is good to settle a traveller's stomach. The other should have actually put them to sleep. We do not call it bonamine here, I am not sure what it is, but it sure sounds similar.
