Do You Think That Television Shows Are Beieng Canceled Too Soon?

I am an avid watcher of the TV show Bones, and they recently created a spinoff called The Finder. I really enjoyed this show, but I was unable to watch it on the time slot it was designated for, so I watched in on the internet once the shows were posted by Project Free TV. The show is being cancelled after one season, and I'm really disappointed about it. My question is, is the internet responsible for certain shows being cancelled? Is it time for TV shows to embrace the new world of the internet? Could a show that normally wouldn't do well on a time slot do better if the watchers were able to decide when they could watch the show? What are some of the shows you enjoyed that got cancelled too soon, and what do you think should happen to prevent these things from happening?

Over the years there have been many shows that I thought were cancelled too soon. I really don't think the Internet has affected this much one way or the other. I am a Bones fan but never got into watching Finder; I only saw the partial one that was when it was started in a Bones episode. I really missed Bones while it was off because Emily Deshanel was on maternity leave. Shows that I thought were cancelled too soon were Fastforward, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Tru Calling, Wonderfalls, Stargate: Universe, Dark Angel and many more.

I've heard a low of bellowing now about Missing being canceled. On Twitter a couple of celebs were like, THAT'S how it ended and we'll never see what happened?
One show I loved that I thought was canceled too soon was Christy, on CBS. Do you remember that? With Tyne Daly and Kellie Martin?

Trust me I missed Bones, but the Finder had some good components. I think they should ave added a few characters and developed the storylines a bit better. By the way do you think Bones will last a few more season. The season finale left me feeling like they the show still has some gas left.

Actually, internet watching counts for the ratings if you watch within a few days after the show airs like my daughter and I do when we can't watch the live airing. She works in the evening on Tuesdays, so we tape the shows to see later.

Many of the shows do air on their networks online and we do try and watch them there. I know they count for a couple of days after the show aired and we are trying harder to get them viewed right away.

Yes but it depends on which site you are watching it from I think. Do they only count the views on the network website?

I'm not sure how I missed this discussion for so long since I was a big fan of "The Finder" and I'm STILL disgusted they canceled it so soon without giving it a fair chance. To begin with, they gave it a decent time slot but then within a few weeks they moved it to the Friday night "graveyard"; I had a feeling then it was doomed. I really like Geoff Stults a lot and I can't figure out why he's had such bad luck with TV series. He's not 0-3 with "October Road", "Happy Town" and now "The Finder".
I'm still burning about them canceling "October Road" without even giving it an ending! The last episode that ran left EVERYTHING totally up in the air and unsolved. I don't understand why ABC canceled that show since it seemed like everyone I knew watched it and loved it.
There have been too many shows I've liked a lot that have gotten canceled too soon for me to list on one discussion! I already mentioned the three Geoff Stults series, then there was "Mercy", which ended on a HUGE cliffhanger, "The Event", "V", "Jericho" and "Flashforward". It's gotten to the point where I'm afraid to get interested in regular network shows since every one I get hooked on seems to get canceled. The cable channels seem to give shows more time to gain an audience, which is how it should be. Lots of past HUGE hits started out slowly but gained popularity as time went on. With today's attitude "Seinfeld" wouldn't have made it through one season.
I don't know how they get their ratings numbers in this day and age, what with the internet and DVRs. I know I almost never watch a show when it's aired because I wait so I can fast-forward through the commercials, which I know is probably one reason the powers that be really don't much give a crap what I like, right?

Oh man! I got hooked on that show, and when they cancelled it without even showing a proper ending I was so pissed. I hope the internet will try to pick up some of these shows in the future.
