Despite, though and although are three words which has almost same meaning but because there are three they must have rules and regulations about where we can/should use it and how the meaning of sentence can change if we use them. So, Despite, though and although are words which have their own importance and drawbacks, how can we come to know about them?

You are welcome. Besides, 'although' and 'though' may be used in the same way; however, 'though' is mstly used in informal speech and writing, whereas 'although' can be used in a wide variety of styles especially in formal communication.

Hello GG- You are the best judge about use of these words as only you know that in what references you are using them. Although this is not difficult to know despite all the troubles you take using such words though this is really a tough job to select a right one. But practice and knowledge makes you perfect.

yes, you are right, we are the best judge in which word should we use because we know what would be the impact of that particular word but for that we need to know the differences and the knowledge about the grammar of particular language. as English is my second language that is why I need to clear my doubts from the Mylotters, specially from the those people who has English their National language.

I think despite, though, and although actually have very different meanings. Despite means without being affected or in spite of something. Though means despite the fact that or however, and although means even though or nonwithstanding. Very close mind you, but very different depending on the context in which it is used.

yes, it would be depend on the situation and tense and that is why we should know the differences in this kind of words. in day to day to life we use informal language and it does not matter which word we use, but in official work these words can make huge difference in what we want to convey and what we have written or saying.
