Oh gosh, your son will be just fine as long as you teach him that you don't act like that in real life. My brothers and I grew up in a time when almost all cartoons were like that. We loved them and NONE of us have a violent bone in our bodies. Most of those older type cartoons had an element of violence in them but they were so funny. If you raise your children to know right from wrong then they won't be influenced by especially corny cartoon comedy violence. Let him enjoy!

Well I watched cartoons like this(since there were no others...and not such a big stigma against cartoons of any kind at that time) and I turned out just fine! I.E. I am not going around trying to shoot people, or drop anvils on people's heads. If you are really worried about it, just sit down with your son and explain the difference between fiction on t.v. and reality. Chances are he already knows anvils dropping on peoples' heads are just for fun on t.v. and not to be done in real life. Also, depending on the age of the child, the colors, music, and funny words capture their attention, not necessairly the plot like we understand as adults.
