I'm not sure if I've already taken my meds, today...should I...

Previously, I've posted a topic related to this, about my habit of forgetting to take my meds for the day. So, I've taken some suggestions from fellow lotters and placed the tabs and capsules in a transparent pouch right in front of my laptop, to help me remember. Now, I still have not perfected the simple routine, so there are times, that later at night, when I see the pouch, I couldn't be so sure if I already took my dosage for the day. So, my dilemma is if I should take one, and risk the chances that I may have already taken it earlier..or, if I should just skip it and make very sure that I will take it first thing, next day. If this happened to you, would you take your meds or skip?

Doctor´s orders are always to skip as taking twice the amount could be dangerous. But it is better to take them at different hours, but on a routine, than to skip them. I have to take 2 pills in the morning. I take them with my first sip of coffee, no matter at what hour. I also have one of those cheap pouches with days of the week and even times of the day.

I really have to do something about this problem. I'm being really negligent when it comes to daily vitamins or supplements. I, however, give more importance to therapeutic ones, like antibiotics.

There are several easy ways to deal with this problem. You can also have apiece of paper and a pencil with the pills so that you write odwn when you take them. If the doctor gave you meds it is because you need them. And now you are also responsible of your baby.

I actually just did that with my take home pills. By the way, I just got back from the hospital. A healthy baby girl has joined the family.

When I am in that situation I choose to skip my medication. Of course it isn't a good thing to skip the medication, but it can be dangerous to take more medication than you are supposed to. It isn't always dangerous, it also depends on the type of medication and the difference between your dosis and the maximum dosis per day for instanse if your normal dosis is 20 mg and the maximum dosis by day is 60 mg, it is not going to hurt you to take 40 mg, but it is usually safer not to experiment with those things and is better to skip the medication if you are in doubt. My husband and I were sometimes in doubt if he had taken our medication and we bought a calendar where we wrote our initials when we had taken our medication. It worked okay for a while, but today we don't use a calendar anymore..

That makes sense. Medicines like antibiotics can be dangerous when you get too much of it.

Well, this is the main reason why you should put your meds with your routine. Like example, I take mine after breakfast just before going to work, well after breakfast I need to brush my teeth so I put my meds near my sink. Likewise, my mom takes her meds before breakfast, so she puts the meds on the dining table. There are some who use those containers with daily prints like M T W Th F Sa Sun on top of each of the compartment. So you'd see if you'd taken it for the day or not. Another would be to set your phone alarm for the exact time of the meds. There are a lot of ways if you're thinking about the implications of missing the meds. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I totally forgot about that plastic container thing. I bought one last year, and never got to use it. Darn! So, if you were in my situation, just pretend you were as stupid as me --- would you still take a dose or just wait till tomorrow?
