Its all in your mind (seriously).
We get use to the same old, and when you change it yiou get attention, and its something different. Its an inside, insecure type issue. The more you change yourself it shows how much you want the attention, and insecure inside.

You might have a point, I also get bored with the same look so I like to change it up from time to time

I used to wear lots of makeup and jewelry and try to have lots of different clothes. It is true that at least in part it is from insecurity. I wanted to have an outside that was well liked because I was very unsure on the inside. I still love to put on nice clothes and makeup and jewelry if I am having a bad day. I find how I am feeling follows how I am looking. Especially when my kids were young, I would do this for myself on a blah day.

I dyed my hair or had it dyed I should say right before Easter, so far I do not even need a touchup. No more blondie! I love being a brunette! Now if only my obnoxious hubby would stop calling me blondie and all my obnoxious friends would give up the blond jokes.
On a serious thought though, I think I look a million times better with brown hair and should have been born with it!
I think it makes some people feel more sexy because it is like renewing your appearance. I wont say it makes me feel sexy that my hair is changed I will say it makes me look a lot better!

It does not really have that effect on me, but it does seem to make me feel a lot younger. People think I look a lot younger. However, I have gone back to a place I used to work, and the manager has said that she is having a hard time with my hair, that it looked better all salt and pepper to her.(more matronly and mature, it is a social services type position). Hubby is the one who felt I should color it, as people thought I was older than him, and he is eight years older than me. I am almost sixty, but I have been mistaken for my thirties in the last few months. I do find that I am more motivated to take care of the rest of me, though and that is sexy. I guess hair color makes you feel like you are "worth it". By the way, I was a brunette, all salt and pepper, and if I combed my hair away from my face I had wide stripes of gray to white hair. I use henna now and so I am auburn all over, with the white stripes now being pretty bright red. I am working on toning some of that out by adding indigo to my henna. I love how my hair looks and feels as it is shiny and has more life. Maybe that is what it is, hair color brings us back to life.

The henna process takes longer, but I find it much cheaper than commercial products. The first time I colored my hair with a commercial, chemical color the gray stripes turned fuschia. Lol, that was funny. By the way, head lice die from dye and other hair treatments. They turn bright turquoise green.

I remember Henna from way back when I was a teenager, I used it quite often but now I just use whatever is cheap and it looks great.
I used to frost my hair blond but now I like the burgundy, auburn look.

I know exactly how you feel! I think for me it is because I dye my hair black, so when my grey hair starts to show I freak out because it is super noticeable. BUT once I dye it black, and they greys are all gone, ohhhhh yeeeaaaaa I feel good!

I'm only in my 30's so I could have exaggerated just a wee bit
but I agree that change is always nice too! I picked up a dye the other day and instead of my usual black I went with a dark plum! I can't wait to try it!

I'm starting to see a few grey ones but that's not why I dye it, I get bored with the same old color and always need something new
