I would call and leave a message, asking to just call you when he needs someone to come in. If he knows your hours already, then he would know when you are available. You are reliable and he knows this, so I wouldn't think it'd be too much of a bother to call him. It could have even just slipped his mind. Though maybe wait until the morning, if he doesn't call you back call then. 10 pm is a little late and he may be thinking the same "I need to call her but it's a little late."

He lnows I'm usually up late anyways so I have no issue calling late. I may call him in the morning and check. I do need the hours and money he knows this as well. I figured he would give me today off but I don't want to wait and he think I'm just exhausted.

There is no shame in making yourself available for work. If your boss let you know that there is a lot of work available, sounds like he has open the door for you to make any special requests for additional hours. Why not ask? If so, do it with a smile.

If he does not call you first thing in the morning, go ahead and call him. Make it during business hours. You usually work in the later part of the day anyway, so it will let you know in time to make it.

I think it is okay for you to let him know you would be willing to help out. i am sure he is not calling you because he gave you a day off and that is really so nice of him to leave you at that. And maybe you are feeling guilty about not helping out this day, i am sure that he will let you know when he really does need you and contact you if you let him know you can come in anytime he says another hand is required.
