i squashed another millipede

For some reasons i keep on waking up at 3:00 in the morning, yes three! My youngest then asked for milk, then i got up and took his milk bottle and as i opened the door i found this 5 inch long millipede! 
Good thing i was not able to step on it - i would have fainted ( ok ok that is exaggerating but i would have screamed) I was really drowsy that time but when i saw the millipede i got fully awake.
I then grabbed the nearest slipper i could find and poked it till it was away from the door because i think it was trying to squeeze in going to the bedroom!!
So when it was away from the door, i took hubby's shoe ( well it was the heaviest i could find to kill it) then put his shoe on top of the millipede and i stepped on the shoe.... thus hearing the crunching sound of it. 
i really know it was dead. hahaha! i took the shoe and yes it really dead.

Oh you calmly took the surprise of seeing the millipede, jazel. 
Had i been in your stead, i could have screamed out of surprise. But oh yes, i would also crush it with hubby's rubber shoes, because they too are heavy.
Is millipede the one that can bite dangerously ? Which one is the harmless one, (the one that curls up) , the millipede or the centipede?

I tried my best not to shout because i might wake up my husband and he would end up irritated lol..
the millipede is the one that curls while the dangerous one is the centipede - the one i encountered at the bathroom and killed with toothpaste@jazel_juan (15747)

Oh the millipede is cute, jazel and i don't like crushing them. Instead i would pick them up with a broom and a dustpan and throw them out in the back yard window.
But centipede, is dangerous, so i would definitely crush them with my husband's rubber shoes.
My husband said that there are a lot of centipede in Palawan when he was assigned there for a year, during our second year of marriage. He said that it's because the walls of their boarding house are of "sawali".
He would always find one in the pocket of his hanged pants.

Oooh, I would be so grossed out, and I would hate to have that kind of bug around. About getting up at the same time. If you wake up in the middle of the night and you turn on lights you are programming your brain to keep waking you up at that time. I do not have a little one who wakes me up at night. I just sometimes have to get up for the bathroom. Instead of bright lights we have tiny Christmas lights in the bathroom and a Christmas candle with small bulb in the computer room. It makes a big difference about how much you wake up.

Actually when i wake up, i do not turn on the lights, i keep our bathroom lights on and the lights reaches our bedroom making my bedroom dimmer so no need to turn on the light but really i do wake up during 3 in the morning.. but you are right my body is getting programmed to wake up at that time..
