I Think I Can Prove Double-Yolker Eggs ARE Lucky!

Oh my! What a day I've just had! Mum's here of course and it was freezing out and about shopping in Carlisle - but we managed it. Haha! Anyway, when we came back there was an envelope waiting for me on the arm of the chair. When I opened it it was a letter from Eden District Council (the Council in Penrith, the Town John works in) inviting me for an INTERVIEW!! I haven't had an interview for at least 2-3 YEARS! The job itself is only temporary until September 2012 but I really don't care; it would be something to put on my CV. Later on Mum picked a horse (No.9 she said) at Epsom on the telly and it won at 50/1. Unfortunately, she didn't put any money on it but - as I said, if she had she wouldn't have won! Next up..I happened to look out the front window at one point and a BLACK CAT walked across the road, diagonally, right outside the house. I have NEVER seen this particular cat walk across the road before, it always seems to be on the other side. And - last but by no means least, when I decided to bake some Ginger Fairy Cakes after tea I cracked open an egg and YET AGAIN it was a double-yolker. That's three now out of the six we have in the box. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about the interview though. It's a week on Monday at 2pm and I would like each and every one of you reading this to send me positive vibes please, even if you're asleep at the time!

Ha, you've had a day. Ew, a double yolker egg is gross, I always throw them out if I come across these eggs. I understand about most all of the other things, but I'm not sure what you mean about the black cat? Are you superstitious? I hope the interview goes well, I have a feeling it will. The cat is nothing to worry about. Black cats get such a bad rep, it's sad to hear.

Black cats are considered to be GOOD luck in Europe.

And today we had another double-yolker egg AND I saw another black cat when we were out and about..and yes, black cats ARE considered lucky in Europe, although they were persecuted with the witches many, many years ago.

Mum came across another double-yolker egg today whilst she was making scrambled eggs plus I saw a black cat on our little drive out..funnily enough..on the scenic route to Penrith where the interview will be. You DID say double-yolkers were lucky and Mum said they're the best eggs she's tasted for a LONG time!

I do not know that I believe in luck, but if you do, you certainly have reason right now. It will give you all kinds of confidence for that interview. I would think it would be great to start out as a temp and find regular employment. You go girl. And how do you make ginger fairy cakes? I guess I could look it up. I might get lucky and win some swag bucks if I do.

Amazingly, Mum made scrambled egg this morning and yes, you guessed it, YET ANOTHER DOUBLE YOLKER! That's 4 now out of the 6. I'm dying to know if the next two are the same. Anyway, in the meantime, I've sent you a message, including my Sticky Fairy Cakes Recipe.

Today Mum used another one of the eggs..and yes, it was a double-yolker, so that's 4 out of the 6. Also, on a little drive out to Penrith I saw another black cat..so that's 2 black cats in 24 hours! 8am eh? Aww, will you be awake at that time?

I have to be at work at 9, I try to leave around 8 - not so much because its so FAR but because the traffic is so bad! Also, I like to walk around the complex and look for cans...

It's great to hear that some positive things are coming up in your life. It seems as if you are getting plenty of "signs" from the universe.. I wish you all the very best at your interview with Eden District Council and you never know, but they may find you something beyond next September. You seem to be very optimistic and they say that like attracts like, so keep visualizing what you want to happen.. _Derek

Thanks Derek. I shall try to visualize very, very hard. Being at Mum's next week will actually help me I think. I am taking a few "bits" with me to read up on but I shall purposefully not think about the interview too much. I must say though, it's a job tailor-made for me and only 25 "flexible" hours a week, so less tax to pay..if I get the job of course. Can't be TOO confident lol.

You get the post delivered on Saturdays? Lucky you. Nice to hear you have a job offer. Hope you get it.

We haven't had Saturday delivery here in Canada for so long, I can't remember when it stopped. I don't even know what ordinary letter postage is anymore (the stamps just seem to have a maple leaf on them where you would expect the denomination to be) close to a dollar, anyway.

Many people moan over here over the postal service (especially since the stamps went up a lot just recently) but I think it's very good..and you're right, having a postman deliver post on a Saturday is lucky and we should be less critical, as being a postman/woman is not considered a very glamourous job at all.

I personally dont believe in the whole luck thing but thats cool if you do. I hope the food you make with those double yolk eggs tastes good. I have never seen an egg with two yolks in it. I think a few times over the years my mother has but I have not had it happen yet. I just made 3 dozen eggs the past few days for my daughters birthday party and none of them had double yolks. Then again they were all hard boiled so maybe it would be harder to tell.

They say luck comes to us in mysterious ways. Who says that? I don't know, I might've been the one to initially say it! Either way good luck and good vibes sent your way!

That is great news about the interview. This could be a sign of good things to come. I really hope things start going your way for a change and that you are able to get all the things you want to make you and your life happy. I think things are starting to turn around for me also. I just recently got some good news. Nice!!!

If so this means you can buy your own luck since you can buy these eggs over here as much as you like.

Well, the difference with these is that they're not supposed to be double-yolker eggs, that's my point. We've had these large eggs before and have never had (4 now) out of 6, it's highly unusual. So are two black cats seen in 24 hours...considered lucky here.
