After work I went over to Zehrs to pick up some herbs, and pregrown veggies. I know I will only push it off more, so I pushed myelf to get them. There was a sale of Buy 10 for $35.00 and they are decent sized plants. I got a pepper plant for my mom (I was running out of things to buy), 2 zucchini plants, 1 tomato plant. Also, parsley, basil, dill, oregano, cilantro, rosemary, and catnip. I plan on going back to get the seeds for the lettuce, carrots, celery, spinach, and a few others (I was debating of strawberries and raspberries - they are $9.99 a piece). I bought 2 long planters as well to plant all the herbs and such in and hopefully bring them in during the winter.

I knew about iceburg lettuce. I will have to go pick some out of her bowl and see what he likes. Hes already spoiled, hes back at not eating the hay unless I feed it to him. Typical man he is and my Mom brings him a afternoon snack of carrots. He certainly isnt stupid and knows how to work people over.

I too like gardening very much but as I am from India, I can't plant carrot and few other stuffs mainly because of the climate. But, I have already planted tomato, green chilly, green leaf and pumpkin. Its growing nicely and I am planning to grow some more vegetables this weekend.

I hope you enjoy and your veggies turn out. I know here in Canada we have issues with the climate more with the fruits like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and so on.

So, your's will be a fruity garden rather than veggie. How is the climate now in Canada? My hubby has got a plan to come there. What is your suggestion?

You're off to a fantastic start, can't wait for you to get everything in so you can post pictures. Keep in mind that dill is a large plant; catnip can get fairly large. You can control their growth by the size container you plant them in.

I hope they turn out, and everyone likes them. I may go back for some more but those are the ones I will start with. The tag said the same thing so I planted them so they can have a load of room.

Raspberries are beneficial to a woman's health so I would reccommend them. You can take the leaves and dry them out and make a tea out of the leavs to drink, it's actually good. A bit tart, but I drink the stuff out of the box never have done the fresh stuff.

What are the benefits of raspberries? I may go next payday and get a Blackberry, and Raspberry bush. I was thinking of growing Watermelon, and Strawberries as well.

I buy the frozen ones and add yogurt and a little juice to make a smoothy. It's a great snack. I put banana with it and have a banana berry blend with yogurt and drink it as a meal replacement.

Well that sounds good, now that you have them you will feel more obligated to take care of them or else their lives will be wasted. I started all of my plants indoors this year and am looking to get them all planted out in my garden today. I love gardening so much and tomorrow on my day off I'm going to a yoga ranch to help them in their garden as well. Starting seeds indoors was a little bit more tricky than I thought it would be but most of my plants seem to be doing well and I hope that they will be okay once I transplant them into the garden today. I also may buy some prestarted plants sometime this week from a farm in Petoskey. They are offering all plants for two dollars so I might stop out there and get some good ones. I have a wide variety of tomato plants but I just love having as much as possible, I'm looking for some white and pink varieties and I'll probably also check out their pepper plants. Anyways good luck with your plants I hope that they become happy and healthy and have a good life under your care.

I think growing inside is hard to begin with especially from the seeds. I bought these pregrown, and I may start my lettuce, carrots, and celery from seeds this year. I do hipe yours grow big and successful for you. I need to go back and grab a few more plants as well.

I also hope the garden works out, and grows a load for me. I am going to try and bring them inside during the winter months as well and see how well it grows.

Hi Ricki! Well, if all those plants bear you a good crop it should be well worth uoir money. I have space for a little garden. I don't know if B will let us gave one though. I would take care of ot vi would live to have cucumbers and watermelon and I would Luke to get one of B's blueberry bushes or two. She has a blueberry farm. .
