Enlivening Living Rooms

I like very simple rooms, with neutral colors and lots of fresh flowers and live plants.

You know, I've never really taken the time to think about the decor in our home, but I really think that the main thing that the decor in our living room says is that our style is to be as frugal as possible. The reason that I believe that this is the case is because of the fact that there is not a piece of furniture in our living room that we've bought brand new. In fact, the only things in our entire house that were purchased new are our mattress and our television.

My living room is probably the most formal room in my apartment. I actually decorated around the sofa. Mine was torn up, so someone gave me one that was in great shape. So I decorated around the style of the sofa, which was pretty formal.

We have a large living room and when we are at home we spend most of our time here, so it is important to us that the room looks nice and it is important that we feel comfortable in here. We have furniture that we have bought, furniture that we have received from friends and furniture that my husband has built. The walls are white with many small paintings. I think that we have a nice living room, but we need a new couch and we need a new floor. Our house is from 1920 and the floor in the living room is ugly and very old. A new floor is our first priority. When we return from our trip and are going to save up for a new floor.

If this topic was about Houses, would it be called Houses and would it be indicated by a photo of a house rather than a photo of people? (House was one of my favorite TV shows.)

When it comes to how the house or a room should be, i am a minimalist. I like only the few needed things. That way, i don't get to clean a lot of things.
