How to get rid of depression?

More and more frequently I feel depressed and feel like nothing interests me anymore. I then avoid going out and seeing my friends. I know it's bad for me but I can't help it. I also know the reason of my depression but it can't be set aside for now. The worst thing is that my depressions alternate with anxiety moments.

Personally I think no matter who you are or what you might be going thru, there are many here who have experienced this, and many times some of us worse than others. Being depressed and having to live with depression is no fun, especially the times it is worse than others. We often do not really want to be anywhere, with anyone, and wish people could leave us just alone. The problem is learning to find things that will help change this, and make us feel better. But personally if you are really feeling at your worse, take time to get help. If it is in the form of medication, this is OK. Also find people you can talk too and help you even if they do not always understand. Worse thing a person can do when they are really feeling at their worse, is just always want to be alone.

You are so right! Sometimes I think it's something inborn in my case. And believe me I try my best!

Thanks for sharing, there is none who has never felt depressed, but getting depressed frequently is not good, have you ever tried yoga, or breathing exercises?

I must say I didn't try them but I'll think about it. The truth is yoga needs an expert to guide this practice. And I don't think I can find one where I live. Thanks for the idea.

of course, there is medication that can be taken from the doctors. you may want to try that route. i don't suffer from major depression. just a little that goes along with my fibromyalgia and not being able to sleep or get a good night of sleep. after many months, the lack of sleep just wares on you.

I took a long time ago some Medication for depression but I heard it's addictive. As a matter of fact I have stopped taking all kind of medication for five years since it was of no help for me. It was not for depression but for other health problems.
