Do you work 100%?

For the past few weeks, I feel like that I did not function as supposed to be. Maybe I just spent 30% work-related, 20% break time and 50% not work-related at all. I'm not suggesting that I'm a lazy worker and who has no initiative to find some work to do, but maybe because of several factors. I really tend to slack off when things wont come up as supposed to be. I think, I need something to change or anything. I admit, I work on Mylot during break time. My questions are - Do you work honestly to your job at your office? Do you mainly work on office-related functions, as in no pretensions and act like you appear to your boss as a busy bee? As in your working 100% time spent working on office-related? How about my fellow mylotters? Kindly share your thoughts. This is for all working in the office, at home or to those dropping by..Thanks a lot

You should be free to do as you wish on your break time, so MyLot should be okay on a regular break. The rest of the time you are at work you should be working for the person who pays you, that is honesty. If there is a problem with that job, then you need to find another one where you can be fully engaged in the work at hand.

Sometimes I think of giving up my job and look for a new one that really preoccupies me. In my situation right now, I really need a pause even for a moment before doing the job hunting thing. Thanks GardenGerty

I will be hypocrite if I am going to say yes, I am working 100% in the office. I guess non of us will have the same efficiency in work or should I say, most of us are not working 100%. You are right, those who work less than 100% are not lazy but there are other things that will interupt our work. Like you, I am do mylotting and blogging not only during break time but whenever there are free time. good day.

Well yeah work sometimes could be really hard no matter that you are lazy or not. I also sometimes just can't give my 100% at work. But I sometimes just go on a short vacation with my family or friends and when I go to work I'm fully motivated and work on 100%.

I've noticed when I begin to "slack off" it is time for a change. Maybe it's time to change to a different employment opportunity or maybe it's just time to take a temporary vacation from work. Do what you feel is best and good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks sherrybelle. I really appreciate your response. Sometimes there a lot of reasons why I slack off. One is that there are times when I complete the specified tasks before my 8 hour shift ends.

Most of the people spend their lifes just working and nothing else. When they grew old, they turn back and see that they accomplished only work and nothing else.I'm kind of person that wants to accomplish something big on this planet. On other hand, my grandfather gave me an advise couple a months ago - make your life with a way that you will work less and get paid a lot and life will be with you(although I've plan it before).

There are times that I give my 100% at work especially when giving medication because these are very sensitive, one mistake it might be harmful to my patient. But after giving medication and food to my patient, I think I only give my 80% because while my patient is watching TV or sleeping I am playing with my cell phone and texting. :)
