I saw a beggar in here, he looked so dirty with tattered clothes. He begged money from people who was eating in restaurants. Many people don't want to get his trouble while they are eating then they just throw money to his hat. For sure, he got much money after begging a while...He goes out and continuing to beg money in the next restaurant. After that, he went to a small road, just for few seconds, he wears nice clothes, look at him, no one thinks that he was a beggar before. He cached a taxi and got in.., OMG, i couldn't believe in my eyes, what i did see...He was a beggar and now he wears nice clothes and goes by taxi... In this city, I still drive a motorbike when i wanna go to anywhere, rarely i catch a taxi because it is quite expensive, but a beggar did it in front of my eyes...

He's not a beggar; he's a scammer who obtains money from other people by deceit.

first of all are you sure that he is the one who is the beggar before? and have you seen him change that fast? I can't believe that! Maybe he is just pretending to be a beggar (if he is that) to gain money that easy.. Why didn't I think of that? Well, I guess there's lots of people now in here that does the same...they seem to look poor and beg for money then it's just an act to gain money...

i guess it's just his way of gaining money. it is more effective than just having nice clothes when begging. who would help someone who isn't begging and looks poor, isn't it?

For sure, no one gives money to a person who wear a nice clothes and not look poor. and me too, I wont give money to who looks healthy. However, they are very good to make them look so miserable and poor... Do you often give money to beggars?

thats the kind that makes it so hard for people who really need the money for food. ive heard and seen on tv about people who make a very prosperous living like that. here i think its called panhandleing. im not sure but in most states i think it may be against the law. its sad for some who need it.

thats not exactly what i was saying. i was saying its to bad we cant tell when they really need it. cause some do and some just use it for gain. so maybe do what my one son said, he said he only gave a little he could spare and his consience is clear. not worrying about what they do with it. he will still feel good about it.

Ah, i understand...but in my opinion, beggars should be poor people and they have to beg money or food for surviving. Right? I think we will be happy when we can help truly beggars, but we will be unhappy when we do help fake beggars.

Hihi...Begging is just a part time job for him, he is in fact a millionaire. Sometimes a rich man will go around begging for the fun of it trying to see how much compassion he can get from city residents, you shouldn't be surprised at all. He is rich doesn't mean that he would not go begging for more money, it is his hobby to collect more and more $$$ until the last day of his life without the need to work hard or at least doesn't need to deal with a nagging boss at work.

As long as he can make easy money without the need to work hard, whether it's right or wrong, nice or bad isn't important at all for him. It is the same for the monk as well as for the rich, just bring along with him a bowl, he can make a living out of people compassion, there are always cheat and crook living in big city no matter how you think, you are right about that in HCM city, too many lazy young people going around begging for food and money for a living, it is quite a shame for the city and the country so many of their people are resort to begging for a living, it show that the government had failed in their governance and policy when many beggers are found on their street and in their cities across the land.

ya, you are right, it is ashamed for the city. i think all because of the government policy. There are too many fake beggars on streets it means that there are many lazy people who want to earn money by no self-respect way... I never give money to beggars any more because if we give money to them, they can earn money easily and day by day beggars are increased only. It is a burden for a country...

Oh no, if it is the truth it is not nice at all. Why he could pretend a beggar to ask money the others while there are many real beggars our there? Ya, it is a way of earning money also, but it is not nice when he is not a real beggar, right? i heard that in HCm city, there are many guys who pretend monks bringing a bowl to get money also.

Hi Ryanong, if you come to my country you will be surprised more to know that there are beggars who owns expensive car and expensive house. Its happen because they are too lazy to get a job and begging will give them easy money, they would not quit begging although they had enough money to buy them a car because they dont want to work. I dont want to give my money to beggar, I think it will be better for me to donate my money to orphan or charity they deserve the money more than those beggars.

huh? they are beggars but they have expensive car and expensive house??? oMG, if like that i want to be a beggar like them too...I work hard everyday but i really don't know when i can buy my own house...... Oh no...if like that i never give money to beggars anymore, they are richer than me hundreds times...

Yes they bought expensive car and house from the money they collected by begging people, I've seen a lot of investigation of the beggar's life. Some would act as if they are disable and made people pity on them and give them money. Well, do you know what lesson we can take from this story? Those beggars got cents from people and from the cents they earned they able to buy expensive car. so actually if we collect our cents everyday someday we can buy our own car and we dont have to beg the other to give us cents, lets appreciate every cents we have if we save it then we will get a lot of money later.

hihi, you are right. In fact if we do save money everyday, one day we will have a big amount of money. I was just joking...when saying that i wanna be a beggar like tham. But you know, when i lived in Korea, many friends told me....just wear tattered clothes and sit in a subway enter gate, for sure i would earn much of money.... because they saw many beggars in there are healthy than me...

It's like a cinima story. Really intresting. There is a Sherlock Holmes' story, in which a gentleman turned into a ugly begger, just for money. Are you talking the truth or is that your mere imagination?

That is sad that man who claims to be poor can afford to take a taxi. Earlier today randy and I were driving back from his doctor's appointment and we saw a homeless man holding up a sign saying he was a World War II vet. Well, World War II happened in the 1940s and when someone had shouted out how old are you he said that he was 30 years old so there was no way he could be a World War II vet. It amazes me how many people would much rather beg for money rather than find work.

You donate money to legit charities and not to some random street beggar. Why would anyone want to give money to beggars in the street??? Don't anyone knows the old saying "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." So why not help the beggar to find a job if he's not handicapped? Even if he is, he can still find a job that suits handicapped people. By then again, that guy's not a beggar just a lazy a**.

*But then again.. (Mistake) Anyway, do you know there's some secret criminal organization that actually use beggars to get easy money? The worst are child beggars.. Do you know where these majority child beggars come from? They were kidnapped then made handicapped by these criminals in order to beg for money. There are kidnapped adults as well. Man and women. So.. Never ever give money to beggars in the street, it might encourage more people to be kidnapped and harmed to be use as beggars.

hi, Begging is a business for thee people. They do not want to work hard and earn the money. They are happy with whatever they get by way of begging. They don't have self respect. They are habitual of getting money without doing anything creative but to beg and have an easy money to live peacefully. I use to help only to older beggars and that to in the form of cloths, food instead of money because it can be misused.

Hi friend, i think the beggar is really smart, he fooled a lot of people and earned a lot to hire a taxi, as he earned that money without more effort, so he spent it for his luxury, if he worked hard for that money, he never hire a taxi like this.

Wow. So he just pretended to be a beggar to get some money? Wow, these days people do anything just to get money. It is weird! I have never experienced this before. But it is true that beggars are fake. Sometimes, they are not even as poor as you think and some of them operate with a large syndicate.

To give or not to give - Whether these money are for the beggar or other bigger boss is the question.
i my place , it is well known they are syndicate they collect all these beggars and train them to collect alms or donation or pity money in the night markets and such , they even hire taxi to collect them sent them back the centre. However , some of these beggars are in bad conditions, smelling clothes, long hair ,long nail , limbs missing are often , and will lie on the road side begging kowtow for money.Once even foreign beggar syndicate was operating inside country use baby and single mother.THat syndicate get crippled by the authorities and now the local syndicate take over.

This is so funny and entertaining story. In my entire life I haven't seen a beggar who after a while completely transform to a neat person and ride a taxi. I saw beggars speaking the English language but that was on TV Well maybe it's true, beggars have more money than us. I personally don't like to give money to beggars especially if I saw that they are still capable to work. If I do it, it's like tolerating their lazy attitude. There are people who are disabled but doing their best to work just to have a meal on their table. Then why beggars should transfer the burden to all the people who work hard to earn and have personal expenses too?

They use people's kindness to earn money, it is really bad...but in fact they can earn much money by that way...that's why many guys do like that...just go around and can earn much money that is much more than a day salary of a hard worker. From now on, i won't give money to any beggar anymore. I really don't want they do use my kindness...

Yes, that man was not a beggar at all. Well, he was a beggar in the sense that he was begging people for money but he was not a homeless beggar. He dressed in old and dirty clothes so that people would be more likely to have pity on him and give him money. Would you give money to a beggar who was clean and well-dressed? Probably not because you would think that he was a scam artist who didn't need the money. Most true, homeless beggars will ask for even a cup of coffee or food as well as money and they would be happy to get anything of what you offer. However, scam artists don't want coffee or food, they want your money and only your money. The man that you saw was definitely a scammer.

Exactly Suebee, fake beggars just want to get MONEY only...I really hate them. I easily pity the others. I remember a beggar begged me, I asked does he want to eat something when i was eating. He said yes... it was nice and i was happy when they enjoyed food that i bought for them. But right now there are many fake beggars in here, it is really hard to find a truly beggar.
