India

Here in my state people are observing ‘Raja festival’; it is supposed that mother earth menstruates once in a year; it has begun and will last for 3 days. Women make different kind of sweets;distribute; enjoy singing special songs while swinging on rope swings from branches of trees. They also prepare 'pan' (from betel leaves, betel nuts) and distribute. Farmers don’t dig holes on ground or plough lands. India is a land with so many states, each have festivals of their own. What about festivals in your place? Please share and share your opinion on this festival of ours. Thanks in advance. Namaskar Sir Yesterday, it was hot here and today it rained during the day. Most the day there was nothing much happening, but in the evening I got some Raja Paan (beetles) for my wife. She had been asking me where are the Paan since yesterday. I know, in our state Raja Festival is celeberated all across and the special meetha paans are a favorite picks of the women. Even I had one and liked it.
