Raja festival, mother earth menstruates

[b]Here in my state people are observing ‘Raja festival’; it is supposed that mother earth menstruates once in a year; it has begun and will last for 3 days. [/b] Women make different kind of sweets;distribute; enjoy singing special songs while swinging on rope swings from branches of trees. They also prepare 'pan' (from betel leaves, betel nuts) and distribute. [b]Farmers don’t dig holes on ground or plough lands. [/b] India is a land with so many states, each have festivals of their own. What about festivals in your place? Please share and share your opinion on this festival of ours. Thanks in advance.
