I posted two discussion about a friend I met up with on facebook and how \I came to find out she had been raped on the job. I didn't think about it before but it just occurred to me that I met many people who are going through some kind of mental anguish, more so than the average person. I am disappointed that I could not continue to work as a therapist and now I just came to realize that God is putting these people in my path and even though I am retired I still can help them. I never thought of it that way before but it makes me feel better that I still can make a difference in the life of someone who is suffering. Any thoughts?

That is awesome that you came to know this. You have a calling on your life. If we are a willing vessel God will use us to bless others in some way.

God definitely brings people into our lives for a reason just as he allows things to happen to us for a reason.

its so sad when we end up dropping what we could have been perfect at because of having kids, getting married and in general putting off things till its to late. I could have been set for life if Id taken all the education i needed for caregiving or nursing school or even journalism, but no, i put it off till it was to late. then took the caregiving back up without the schooling. so when i got sick and i was to old to do it any more, there was no retirement fund nor savings to fall back on. but i guess its not to late for you to still help with your own calling

Well, maybe God really has some purpose for you. These people come across your way, so you will be able to help them. Sometimes we cannot understand God's plan until it happens. You're not doing your profession by career, but bu heart this time

Its good you are there for them and even though not being paid you are there to listen and give advise. I agree everything happens for a reason and this is one.

Your education did not make you a therapist or a counselor, your personality, that was a gift from God made you this helping person. Your education only validates you in the eyes of men. I think you should feel good about your particular talent and use it up as much as possible. It is a gift and it will flow more freely the more you use it as God intended it to be used. Go on with the adventure of serving where ever you are.
