Cruise and Holmes split

Honestly, I have to say that this news isn't something that surprised me at all. In fact, just like you, I expected the two of them to split up a long time ago. There are a lot of reasons for that, first of which is the fact that he is so much older than she is. In addition to that, his extreme religious views (if you can call them that) would be enough to drive almost any woman away. And the Brooke Shields thing is a whole other reason that I don't care for Tom Cruise.

I always thought the combo was a bit strange, but to each his or her own. I just hope that they can keep the paparazzi away from the kiddo.

from seeing all the tabloids (i really don't pay much attention to Hollywood these days. i am much more interested in the Hollywood of the 1920s and 30s) this bit of information doesn't really surprise me either. he seems a little over the top.

I subscribe to several newsletters regarding Astrology and Numerology and when there's news of a famous Hollywood couple split, I would often read in the newsletters about an overview of their chart and how it did not work out. As for TomKat, I've read that Katie Holmes has a number 1 Life Path in Numerology. Well as can be ascertained alone from the number, people of Life Path number 1 will eventually always find a way to assert themselves. It's clear she felt restricted with Tom's attitude. Plus, in another Vedic Astrology I've read, the two of them got together rather too quickly - they got together at a rather unfavorable astrological season for them both.

I saw on the news that they were divorcing. They are making a big deal about Tom Cruise and Scientology too. Like his religion may have caused the break-up. He does not have the best reputation for being a good guy off the set. I am not crazy about him either.

Some more news that is not news, I guess is how I feel. Yes, he got so outspoken about his beliefs about things regarding health that I really got disillusioned with him. My thought is "since when does being a celebrity make you an expert on anything?" I will say that it did bring more attention to a very serious problem for women.

Another one bites the dust.....sometimes it seems like celebrities break up then make up then break up....I imagine it's hard with all the focus being on them to establish a relationship that does last....

I never thought the marriage was a good idea or that they were suited for each other. The impression I got from the start was that he wanted to be very controlling of her. I still think that her face changed quite a bit soon after they got married and that he made her get plastic surgery so that she would have a resemblance to him but with a feminine look. She probably got tired of being controlled and wants out.

It could not of happen to a nicer guy! lol! I can't stand Tom Cruise and I don't like any of his movies! I have never liked him since I found out he is a Scientologist,when he divorced Nicole for real reason and especially when he bashed Brooke Shield and her PPD! I prayed Katie would have it after having Suri just to seem him try to explain it! It didn't happen of course! I am glad Katie Holms has come to her senses!`She deserves better then that jack@ss!

This was not surprising I think, because as we all know most if not all celebrity couples does or have done the same thing. Local or international celebrities thought marriage is just a whim which can dispose if they got tired of it. I'm not really a fan of Tom and have never seen Katie's acting either.

I think it is very sad that marriages don't mean anything to most people anymore, especially in Hollywood. I wish there were more couples that would stick it out together and overcome life's struggles. I don't understand what they have to overcome with all of the money they have, what is so bad in their life that they cannot put more effort into their marriage? I do not understand it at all...

It didn't exactly surprise me either. I was a fan of his as well for awhile until he had that awful "opinion" on Brooke's PPD, it totally turned me off of him. I mean, how could he know anything about how a female feels in that way, right? Anyways, I hope Suri is not effected directly by the break up and she continues to see them both. She shouldn't suffer because her parents are unhappy.

I've always felt it's not a strong relationship. I didn't see that genuine sparkly glowy type of we-love-each-other-so-much spark between them from the beginning. And if all those gossips about Tom and his crazy expectations (when it came to Katie's dressing, behaviour, bringing the kids up... I even heard that he prohibited her from screaming at birthgiving? please don't let that be true), then Katie is so strong for sticking up to herself and letting him go/leaving him.

My first response to this was something Tom said about a week or two ago - that he didn't want to have anymore children. Katie is young and I'm sure she wants to have another child, though she certainly does dote on Suri. I thought when I first heard he made that statement that it could be the end of his marriage and a week later his marriage is over. Coincidence?

I was really disappointed when I heard they were getting divorced. Cruise had said some things in recent years that put me off of him, including the PPD comment which he eventually apologized for. But once it's out there, you can't take it back. I've always like Katie Holmes, but one thing I noticed is that when they got married - she changed. How she dressed, how she did her hair...even how she was addressed. He'd call her Kate, and for some reason that rubbed me the wrong way. It has nothing to do with me, it's not my business, but I wish they would work it out. For Suri's sake if for nothing else.
