A question about public transportation in Vietnam

We plan on travelling from Dalat to Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam by bus and I was wondering if one of the Vietnamese lotters or someone who has visited Vietnam could answer a few questions. I have tried to find the information on Google, but I haven't been able to find the answers to my questions. How do the busses work in Vietnam? Do you have to buy the tickets a couple of days in advance or you buy the tickets the day that you want to travel? Do you buy tickets on the bus or before you enter the bus? As far as I have been able to find out there is no train station in Dalat, so the bus the only option.

I used to visit Dalat some years ago. You can go there by bus or airplane (small type). In vietnam, when you want to go by bus, you can get in a bus and then pay money later. Make sure you should know the price or ask a driver about a price first. I remember i took a bus from HCm at 1 pm and i was in Dalat around 8:30 pm because it is quite far(around 300 km). You can see more information from here. http://wikitravel.org/en/Dalat (not referral link)

Thanks for your response I will remember those things. I am a little surpriced to hear that there are about 300 kilometers between Dalat and Ho Chi Minh city, and bus trip will take longer than I expected, but that is okay. HCM will be my last stop in Vietnam and from HCM I will fly back to Europe. I visited the link you gave me, and I will return later and read the rest of it

Ya, it is 300 km and for sure a street is not flat at all, it is around a mountain..because dalat is higher place than HCM city. You know Dalat is a city for lovers..because it is very romantic...people should go there with partners, rarely you see a guy goes to there alone...
