How Many Times Should I Declined Friends Request?

hi mylotters, In facebook, yahoo messenger and even here in Mylot there are people we don't accept their Friends Request but what if there are people who don't get it in my facebook account I have more than 30 pending friends request most of them is a friend of my friends but I don't accept them because I don't know them personally. I declined most of them and yet they send friends request again duh!don't they get it I don't want them to be on my list that's why I don't accept them why they still need to keep on sending me a Friends Request? have you ever experienced the same? what did you do with this kind of people? happy mylotting

Hi bhaby catch: I think it depends on what you want to do with your social network. Facebook for me is a more personal page for me so I only add my closest friends because I want to keep it private. In the case of Mylot, I want to share my ideas and discussions with the world so it's the opposite, I add a person no matter where is he/she, his/her looks or ideas. I want to participate and talk with people to know the amazing stories we find here and also increase my participation level ALVARO

i guess maybe one of your friend's friend want to meet you and be friends. maybe to those you could give them a chance to meet them. for me i decline friends request only if i dont know the person's language. in facebook i have many filipino friends and because i accepted their requests i know that filipinos are warm and sweet and good friends^^ i understand you dont want to accept requests of those you dont know. but if is a friend of a friend maybe you could meet them^^ they might be good friends to you in reality.

I have denied some people a few times. I am not sure why they don't get the hint I don't want to add them! I then get frustrated with denying them that I just go into my privacy settings and block them completely

Maybe they have crush in you that's why they keep asking for your request. They don't want to missed for your beauty updates in FB. Well if I'm the one of course I will just block them.

Hello Babhy, I too have lots of pending request in FB and i also don't accept them till i don't know them.I don't send any FR to people till i don't know them but here on Mylot i accept every FR i don't keep them pending for long.

with regards to other social media(besides facebook) I would gladly accept any friend request. I have no real reason to decline them, and if it's another social media that I don't use very often, so why not just add them up but when it comes to facebook, the people that send me friend requests that are of no connection to me whatsoever then, it's an automatic X. But if they add me and we have a few common friends, atleast 5 people that I know personally then I don't mind adding them. but I must say, I do a little research about the people that send me requests before I accept them. I think that there is an option to block them should you decide to, that way you will no longer be pestered by them. I don't usually add people I don't personally know or have gotten acquainted with, but there are some special circumstances to this, still I would usually just ignore those that I do not want to be in my list. I don't decline them, though so they remain in the waiting list in case I do decide to accept their request later on.

You can always block those who keep requesting for friendship. I believe that it is no use accepting request from people who are not really your friends. What is the use. Some people just want to have a big number of friends in their profile so they keep adding friends but not me. I ignore those who are not really my friends and if they request again I block them. It will irritate me if I see posts that you are not even interested and of your concern anyway.

If declining those friend request doesn't work because they just keep on sending friend request again and again. then might as well ignore the request itself. Thou, those request will just pile up on your pending friend request list. In facebook, you can also set your privacy and customize how people can look up your profile. You can also block some people that keeps on sending friend request so they can't find you anymore in FB.

I have more than 200 pending request from FB and you know that I am not active there... so,there is no good reason to keep accepting friends for me there because that account is only for articles sharing and nothing more... well...keep declining until they get tired of sending What would you prefer for breakfast this time?

I haven't really experienced it (just obscure guys from other countries subscribing to me and poking me...). In your situation, I'd send them a letter telling that you don't know them and won't accept their requests. At least in facebook you could send letter to people you aren't friends with.

Hi friend, some persons will send friend request again and again if we deny their request, i faced this kind of issues in mylot. Normally i don't accept the friend request of the persons who don't have any post here, in this way i denied a request the person is sending his request again and again, it is really irritating me, it is really hard to deal with this kind of persons
