Bad Day

I had a bad day today at library. Someone whom I returned a call regarding my resume sent on careerbuilder called me. I shouldn't have answered it right away but I did since I recognized the number. This person Lena called me, and I answered while stepping out and locking the computer to talk on the phone. She asked if I was available to talk but i said yes or was reluctant. I should have said no.. But instead when forward with talking to her. Then she said about pen and paper if i have any. But I tried to look for pen and paper and couldn't. Then she said how long does take you to get pen and paper blah blah blah. Because I told her to hold on and then after that I told her i was library and sorry. Then she said before we continue, I'd like to ask you question. I couldn't really understand her question.. i think it was would money be an issue if we provide training? if yes, we continue, if no, we won't continue.. I couldn't understand the question because there was more to it. And now I'm thinking what job was this that I applied for... I also said sorry this is bad timing and setting...and can we do this at a better time tomorrow and a better setting? then she said what setting? I told her it was bad timing for me to answer... and I just wasted her time as she has said.. then she said she will call back at noon tomorrow. I don't know anymore about this.. I just ruined everything...but I don't even know what job this is. She said I should have told her before hand and when she said she will call me back noon or tomorrow, I said sorry about that.. she hung up on me. Any thoughts on this? I hate this...but she didn't explain what job it was....

Don't be too hard on yourself. You answered the phonecall even though it wasn't a great time and you weren't prepared to talk, and that woman and you didn't get the best start, but I don't think that you ruined everything. She is going to call back tomorrow so you still have a chance. If she had changed her mind and lost interest in you and your resume she wouldn't have said that she was going to call back the next day. Just be prepared for her call next time. Think about the questions that you would like to ask her when she calls again and make sure you have pen and paper.

Hey there thanks for the tip. I'll keep this tip for future scenarios. The person that called me after we got off the phone. I researched her number and she's from Transamerica. I think this is business opportunity and not really a job job thing. i just hope I get and land a better job sometime. lol

Thanks for the response. I know. Just hope all goes well. The person that called me was from Transmerica. She didn't explain what the job I applied for was and went on questioning. I had blocked her number.

Hi. I believe the person on the other line mentioned about the job position before she proceeded to further say more. It's a standard procedure. It's like, "hi, am calling from blah blah. I'd like to speak with you regarding your application for the position blah blah. Is it a good time to talk?" OR the person prolly it's like, "hi, we received your application through blah blah for the position blah blah... are you available to talk?" But, don't worry so much. If they said they're gonna call back, they will. Just be prepared. And...break a leg this time around! ^_^

Maybe you should have asked her what kind of job it was. If she won't tell don't continue. It might be just a scam. Maybe they want you to pay.

I wasn't able to ask what kind of job it is, but after ending call with her, I researched her number on the internet. I found a forum about phonenumbers who called... The girl is name Lena and someone who posted online mentioned her number stating that she called. She's from Transamerica/Primerica. Then I blocked her number. lol. Thanks for the tip.

If they do didn't explain what job it was and asked money for training, this two elements we can judge it is a good job,may be it is a trick. So no need to worry about that dear webgril01,there will be a much more better job in front of you.Pls try hard and wait with patience.
