Who ever made up this statement is full of CRAPPPPP or never had pain in their Life. For the last week my Feet and Back are just killing me and it makes it hard to work since I'm on my feet all day and I lift a lot of things and so I really need my Feet and Back. A lot of it has to do with my shoes I think. My mom always tells me to buy good shoes and pay a little more but I'm cheap when it comes to buying stuff for myself. Do you pay extra for certain things cause it pays of in the long run?

I do for some things, but when it comes to myself I'm like you. I tend to not be a big spender at all! As it is, my work and (non work shoes) are from Wal-Mart. I spent a whoppin' $12 on my last pair of shoes. They're actually pretty comfortable too and do a good job at keeping my feet pain free (unlike my last pair that cost more). And just like your job, in my line of work it is vital to have a good pair of shoes! So as you can see sometimes it isn't necessary to pay extra for comfort. You just have to shop around and find the ones that work for you. Happy mylotting!

I have purchased those $12 shoes, but they do not last as long. I put the extra insoles in them and they are not too bad, though. The nice thing is that insoles can be moved from shoe to shoe.

@ missybear: Hey, that's pretty good. I spent $30 on work shoes before. @ Gerty: Unfortunately shoes, even the more pricey ones, don't last long in my line of work. They wear out so fast I don't think switching insoles would do any good.

$20 is usually my limit when it comes to shoes

Whoever came up with that saying must have been a fitness instructor or athlete,as I doubt if it was ever intended to apply to someone in Chronic pain due to backache or arthritis! I would be on my feet a lot with my job,so comfortable supportive shoes would be a must..I suppose a problem for Women would be that "Comfortable" and "Fashionable" in footwear can tend to be mutually exclusive...you can have one or the other, but not both..I do look for quality in what I'm buying, but I don't believe in throwing my money at the requirements..I want value for money too..

I wear size 10 and a half shoes and there are hardly any fashionable shoes in my size. I'm lucky if I get a decent looking Tennis Shoe nor less some nice Heels or Boots

Shame that you're not a punk rocker...take a look at photos of girls in those outfits...dr martens boots were a popular accessory for them, and they'd have been available in that size!

Definitely yes when it comes to shoes. I also buy insoles to put in them extra. Right now my favorite insoles are the Dr. Scholl's massaging gel insoles. I hope you can do something to make your feet and back feel better.

As soon as payday comes I will buy some better shoes that's for sure. I know it's the shoes cause when I wear my sandals on the weekend my feet feel so much better and my back don't hurt as bad but the i also don't walk for almost 10 hours.

I once paid $150 bucks for so called good quality work shoes once and they lasted six months. The next pair were $30 bucks and I still have them 8 years later but I haven't worked for 7 years. I try to buy good quality for things that I need to function well and last but I get so ripped off every time. Guess I was lucky though because I have always been in retail sales which meant being on my feet all day on a hard floor. I did end up with issues but it was not from my shoes. Feel better, OK?

There are things I pay a little more for because of the pay off when I can. Now there are times when I can't always, but if I can, I do. Steel toed shoes is one of them...with inserts.

oh missybear I am so sorry to hear your feet and back are acting up. I dont know if its really the shoes. I am buying nothing else escept a certain brand of shoes for the last about 25 years. I have problems with my wide feet and these shoes are just perfect. I rather pay a bit more, prices have gone up so much since the Euro came here, and am able to walk without pain. But when your back is acting up so I hope you ever had a physiotherapist tell you about correct bending lifting and such things back friendly. Maybe this helps.

if no pain no gain then all pain all gain... definitely not :) Anyway I think one should buy good things if can't buy expensive ones...so you should spend some good money on yourself to keep yourself fit for your hard work...

That's what mom says too. Instead of buying 4 cheap pairs that last a couple month...buy a pair that costs more and lasts a couple years. Why is it so hard to listen to parents sometimes

hi, i am definitely never believe on that, because we can still gain without pain or we don't need to feel the pain just to gain because we can gain even no pain in our life, actually i don't buy a things if i know that i can never use that daily.
