I want to let you in on the secret to make a LOT of money online!

Wow, you fell for that line? Let me tell you something, there is no longer a way to make millions instantly for little to NO work online any more.
Take a look around you. You can improve your OWN life, but at what cost? Last I heard, much of the world is in a recession. And it appears that only those currently doing well will be doing well the next few years. And most of the wealthy were either wealthy to begin with or worked incredibly hard to get to that point.
Many website banners promise to make millions (or at least $527 a day!) overnight. Most are SCAMS where people throw money in a hat, and one lucky person gets that money-AND IT WON'T BE YOU!
MyLot won't make you financially wealthy, but it will help enrich your life. Where else can you travel around the globe, meet new people, learn about new cultures, and, oh, GET PAID? Last I heard, MyLot fits that description. Just follow the rules (hint: READ THEM!) and if someone offers you advice, take it. MyLot is meant to be fun, not a competition to see who can: a) make the most money, b) get the most referrals, or c) bash it around the most. MyLot has been here for more than six years and I doubt they're going anywhere.

Good topic I like it. I agree there are too many scams existing. I also agree that Mylot is great and I feel fortunate to be a part of it. I think everyone connected with it from the admin to the technical people that keep the wheels turning are to be commended. I appreciate the site and the awesome members in the community.
Thanks for this discussion it is a good one. I do respectfully disagree that only those people currently doing well, will do well in the coming years. No one knows this for sure. Perhaps the global recession is a kind of a scam too? I don’t mean it doesn’t exist for certainly the markets are evidence that something is badly wrong in the global economy. What I do mean is that along with everything else in this world media qualifying events generate a lot of propaganda (talk talk talk) and we can be intimidated by the hype and it can reflect into our own personal beliefs.
The easy get rich no work scheme was never a good direction to take in my opinion. They are high risk or complete dishonest ventures (scam) that do not have success. Hard work on the other hand does make for success. I am just saying it is possible
and that is not really a secret.

Thanks for the props-every once in a while, I'll hit it out of the ballpark with a great teaser line.
My reasoning behind stating those that are currently doing well will also be the ones to do well is more about that fact that the economy is not improving at the rate the government is trying to say. It seems that a lot of business practices that caused the recession are still in play. And sadly, there's another global superpower that took a HUGE gamble and may be teetering on the brink of a BIG crash. I'm referring to China who bought much of the USA's debt that we're nowhere near paying back.
Success is a two-way street. It does not always mean wealth-one could be doing the job that gives them personal satisfaction and not be paid as well as the CEO on the corner. But hard work WILL translate into being wealthy if you want it too-everyone has different definitions of wealth. Just too many people want everything NOW-unfortunately, we're into instant gratification.

Bluedoll-
If we are not happy with ourselves, money often flows away from us. By helping to feed our souls, we can become wealthy in every aspect. The late Mother Theresa is a great example-she dedicated her life to help the poor and less fortunate. While she was not financially wealthy, she was at peace with herself and her mission. She brought wealth to her that she then immediately gave to the people she wanted to help the most.
I've been working hard the last twenty years or so to become wealthy myself. I am not successful in my pursuit of financial wealth, but I've had some obstacles that I've overcome to get to the point in my life that I am today. I have a chronic disease that could have left me disabled years ago, but instead I've chosen to share my experiences with others newly diagnosed with the same condition and help ease their minds. I only wish there had been someone there for me when I first learned I had multiple sclerosis. I feel good when I know that someone else doesn't feel alone in this battle.

We do need money as well as other wealth. Money is something that opens real doors. If real wealth is not possible and that may well be true even with hard work over a reasonable period of time then I think that is really sad. It means the land of no opportunity is one we must look at everyday.

hi there scorpiobabes,
what you have posted is true. you have aired your point of view bluntly. in the real world, it is not really possible to earn millions in a span of just a night. hence, you really need to work hard and wisely. even you are working offline, you still need to work hard and wisely, or else, your colleague will leave you behind. so, in this world we live in, each of one must be wise to determine what to be done to earn a lot. otherwise, you will just end up on nothing.

I was blunt, something I'm not usually in real life. However, I've been getting fed up with all of the newbies (and some not so new) complaining about how they're getting paid more from other sites. I don't have as many posts here, but I don't HAVE to be here all the time either. It just gets frustrating (like in the last discussion I responded to) from someone with only 39 rated posts here rave about getting paid more elsewhere...and then to be dumb enough to actually post the name of the site! Another member pointed out that by doing so, it's almost a guarantee discussion ender, and the author "apologized". I doubt that person will be paid by the other site for long (if ever!) and will probably be back here soon. And you're right-it just isn't possible to earn millions over night in today's world. If everyone put forth the same effort, we'd probably all have close to the same amount of money. But as I've learned, there's always got to be a ditch digger in the whole scheme of things. Thanks for responding!

Satisfaction is something not easily measured and compared. I have other sites with the potential of earning more money but there really does not seem to be any site that gives me as much satisfaction as MyLot. I think I have a well rounded online diet, so to speak and I do a little of a lot of things, but mostly MyLot.

GG-
I understand what you mean about our inability to measure satisfaction in a concrete way. I had one job that totally satisfied me and my need to help others. I had a job as an editorial assistant at the National Board of Medical Examiners. The NBME certifies medical students, doctors, nurses and physician's assistants here in the United States, as well as administers the certification examinations in a number of specialties. While I was there, I felt like I Was Somebody and that I had an important career. Leaving was probably my dumbest career move ever.

All very good and true points. No one is getting rich here but I love the wealth of friends I have had here, as well as the information and new things I have learned.

We can always hope that it sparks something for someone. Maybe they read it but did not respond.

But I have a need to feel validated, darn it! All I want is to be validated at least once here!

Thanks for your response GG. Everyone that has posted in this thread so far understand the subject, but I was hoping for that at least ONE new person to ask questions about WHY I wrote what I did. Hopefully someone newer that was on the verge of leaving read this, and is going to give it another go here at myLot.

I think there is no secret in making money online. You need to be patient and a learner when doing online jobs. There are easy jobs to earn money online but you need an efforts to reach the minimum payout.
You need to learn because learning the process is the way you get more because you can market those things to make additional income

It seems that everyone who has responded to my discussion understands what I am saying. myLot is NOT about making a lot of money, it's more about growing as a person. If you can make a friend, learn a new language, or learn about a new culture, you grow as a person. To me, that's a heck of a lot more valuable than a few cents here or there.
And I don't think I've come across ANY relatively easy jobs to earn on the internet in quite a long time-many of the money-making opportunities that I've come across over the years have gone under-it's just myLot and a couple of survey sites-everyone else has gone under. It just seems that many new members that complain that the site isn't legitimate (myLot) are people with less than 100 responses and don't know how myLot works. Perhaps myLot can rewrite their code to include a mini quiz on the basics here, with only passing grades being allowed to become the community. But that's only a pipe dream...

Oh, let me tell you that I just wanted to say the same while read your header. Good to know that there are people who know this fact and are trying to make people aware about it. Internet is not a place where they are working to make you rich but are only throwing nets to hook you in. Thanks for reminding.

Hi Suni and thanks for replying! I feel for those who actually fall for those scams and lose everything. I had my own business and learned that it wasn't as easy as I was initially led to believe (selling the products). I succeeded through my own hard work, determination, and a push to learn as much about what I was selling to be educated enough to share the benefits with my clients. I'd still be working my business today if we hadn't had such a drastic drop in the economic landscape that I was servicing-I truly LOVED helping my clients improve their lives. And that's why I was successful. I just like helping people (I'm sensing a theme here...), I've always been that way and probably always will. I just worry that some of our newer members think that MyLot is a get rich quick scheme, which it certainly is not-it's more like a social experiment.

Yes you are right one of the real money making site is Mylot and I appreciate it more because we have friends worldwide who share their views as well. It is not a site to enrich you overnight but it can help you to pay the internet bill. Thanks for sharing with us. Happy mylotting!!

velentina-
You make a very good point-we're being enriched by sharing our views here in a global sense. I mean, we can't expect someone to actually give us a lot of money per posting, but it's a nice bit of pocket change. And in this economy, I know I DON'T pass by pennies in the street! But making new friends around the world is fun too. It's almost as if we owe myLot money for letting us be part of the fun, right?
