I am an independent traveler and I love to visit destinations faraway. I typically book my flight and then travel around a region or a number of different countries. In 2012 I traveled around some of South America. It was amazing to visit Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay. In 2011 I went to the Caribbean coastline of Colombia and had a very exciting time. I had a celebration of staying alive in 2010 because one year previous to that I nearly died. I celebrated that happy knowledge, my thirty eighth birthday and my daughter's first birthday. In 2009 I whilst pregnant with my daughter I took my disabled son to Cape Town and the Garden Route. We had a wonderful time. I haven't seen many places in my own country and will be visiting Cornwall in a few days time. Which kind of traveler are you? Which are some of the destinations that you have traveled to? Have you been to visit any of your home country?

I like to self research all the places I go to and like you prefer quieter less crowded locations. One country I am really hoping to visit and I am not sure why as I have barely done any research into it is Tonga in the Pacific Islands. Maybe it is because my friends have never been. I don't like to visit the same locations over and over but now with our 1st child we want to travel the world all over again and create a map for each child and the countries they have visited etc.

I am an independent traveler, and I love to plan my own trips. When I travel on my own I am able to visit exactly the places that I want to and I choose how long I want to stay at each place. I also like to pick my own accomodation and make my own decisions about the transportation from place to place. Before my husband and I arranged our trip to Asia we looked at some of the package tours. Some of them were quite cheap, but we still prefer to plan our trip, because we have a lot more freedom that way. I have visited many of the other European countries. I have visited places in western Europe and places in eastern Europe and I have enjoyed every trip. I know Denmark quite well and I have visited a lot of different places in my country. I have been Sweden, Norway and Finland as well, but I don't know those countries that well and I would like to go on a long road trip in Scandinavia one day.

I am a traveler that enjoys the less beaten path. A sleepy town in the Caribbean with beautiful scenery and a country girl that goes to the south and visits the land where my relatives live. I enjoy just seeing how people live in these places. It is always a nice vacation. I remember the simple things and appreciate having them more when I am away from all the hustle and bustle. It is always a good time packed with great memories.

We love to travel and have been all over the world; however, due to economic conditions we are focusing on traveling in the U.S. at the moment. This year, we have been skiing in the Poconos, and have been to the Williamsburg area, VA and Baltimore, MD. We are spending a week at the Jersey shore this summer and will be going to Florida this fall. Hopefully next year we will be able to travel abroad again; high on this list are France, Spain, and perhaps Portugal. It will depend on airline prices, though. We shall see!

Im wondering how to answer your first question.. so, what are the types of travelers? Anyway, I love to travel with my husband, and for selected destinations, with our babies. We have visited a number of places in our country. There are a lot to explore around the Philippines. Whether its a beach fun, nature trip or city escapade, there's just a lot of things one can enjoy here. We also have started checking out other countries and we hope to see more and experience the different culture and traditions in these countries.

I have travelled with family as a child to see some of my country. Ive travelled a lot up and down my province. Ive also seen alberta and newfoundland, id like to go to manitoba where some ancestors are from. I havent really travelled on my own as an adult only to fly home back and forth to school. I have only travelled out of the country once to Las Vegas. Never been off the continent but want to travel to Europe

Hi Maxine, I like to travel alone or with friends. I never liked to travel with guides buying those tourists packages. For me, the good thing about traveling is to see things at my pace and decide what I´m interested in. I have traveled within my own country and also to other places. My wishes for next trip are either Bahia in Brasil or Costa Rica. It all depend of finding a friend with my needs as I don´t dare yet to travel alone.

Me and my husband love to travel; we're concentrating on Asian countries at the moment. This year we've been to Thailand and Singapore. I admit that I cannot travel by myself as I have a very terrible sense of direction. I cannot read maps plus even if Ive been to the place already, I will still managed to get myself lost :( Good thing I'm not to shy to admit I'm lost and ask for directions; some locals are just very willing to help while others don't wanna be bothered. Its still okay though.
