Every night I was old Lucy and Desi Arnaz TV shoes. I think she is one of the greatest comedians that every existed, she was so super talented. She was a comedian and she acted as well. Carol Burnett was great, Whoopi as well, of course there were a bunch of men too like Red Skelton,Jerry Lewis, Bob HOpe at times, Billy Chrystal, Robin Williams, and so on. How do you think is the best comedian of all times and who are your favorites, tell us why? This is not a survey but a discussion on the best comedians and why they are the best.

Oh back then, there were too many to mention. The combination of 2 comedians as in the Smothers Brothers and The Honeymooners...apart, I don't know as any of them would be all that funny but together...OMG! Goldie Hawn. Oh and the early Saturday nite Live crew with Steve Martin, Gilda Radner, John Balushi, etc etc. I think most of them amazing. They were corny without going overboard with it I think. Maybe it was because even though kind of corny, we all really either could relate or knew people who were just like them. I do have to say that Jerry Lewis was one that needed a side-kick, I think. He was real funny when playing opposite Dean Martin. On his own...just goofy and corny.

I saw a show on REELZ the other night and it was showing the best 25 characters on tv. Lucy was #1. She was the first comedian on tv. So she should have some experience, huh? I always watched Red Skeleton with my grandmother. He was a dear. I like Carol Burnett better than Lucy. And Whoopi and Robins are favorites too.

Of all of the old shows, I liked Lucy and Dezi, and I also loved Andy Griffith, Jim Neighbors, and the guy that played Goober. I forget his name right now. I guess I love these people so much because they were kind of baby sitters for me. They kept me company a lot when my mom was asleep in the daytime and when I got home I was essentially alone because mom was still in bed. Dad sometimes would be home near supper time and he would start supper. When I got older I helped dad with the evening meal. Now one of my favorite actors is George Clooney. I fell in love with him on ER, and I cried when he chose to go down with his ship in The Perfect Storm. I like to pretend that George Clooney would carry me off to his mansion and love me forever...

yes make believe can be such fun sometimes. When I was a kid I used to think that certain actors were my father, like Glenn Ford. I never really had a father around to know his love.
