Thoughts in your head before sleeping

There are some of us who find it hard to sleep immediately the moment we hit the bed. This is probably because there are so many things, people, places, and ideas that run in our heads. In my case, more often than not, the things I need to do the next day run in my head. There are also instances that the thoughts in my head before sleeping are made up of things that happened during that day. But of course, when I am really tired, I sleep immediately the moment I hit the sack. How about you?

I cannot go straight to sleep unless my mind is clear and I am very tired. I have too much on my mind to think or worry about.

hi dear dolce_vita most of the time I fall asleep when crawled into bed after a day of commuting working and more commuting. Its very seldom that I cant sleep.I only will run into problems when I take a nap so I try to avoid napping on weekends over the day when I could easily do that.

I find it hard to get to sleep anyway. I do tend to find that there is a lot on my mind. Sometimes it's just the stuff I should have done that day but didn't. Other times is because I'm trying to juggle things in my head, such as arrangements I have made, to try and work out if I can actually keep to all the commitments I promised! There is usually something going on in my head to keep me awake. I try to do puzzles and things which helps to clear my head a little bit so I can get to sleep.

I like to try and make it so that I dream about things that I like, and this means that I spend a lot of time trying to think about good things before I go to sleep. I often find that I end up dreaming about things that have been on my mind during the course of the day, and this means that if I try to think about things that I would like to dream about, these are the things that I tend to dream about in the end. It is a great thing to be able to choose what you dream about, and I am sure that a lot of people would be able to achieve the same things if they chose to.

That's true and that was also happen to me. I have lot of things to think before I close my eyes at night like what I need to cook for breakfast, who the 1st person I need to talk and where do I go... Anyway all about my job was in order but sometimes I become rumble due to many problems that comes daily. But I am happy if I laid my back at bed and come 1st to my mind about my love..I'm sure I will sleep with a smiling face and waking up happy and inspired...:)

When I hit the sack I usually am all in. I do not have a set time, which may or may not be a good idea. However, what I do is just work on the net before I have to sleep, and just stay up until I nod off. Then I hit the sack and I am out like a light until the alarm goes off. I don't even dream much anymore. But, that is the way it is. But there are times, when I hve something to do the next day, that I keep thinking about it so it is harder to sleep. I think, for me it all depends. But staying up and working on the net, like having a lot of fun doing discussions on mylot until my eyes burn, lol and then just falling back down into the bed and sleeping is what I usually do.

Sleep like a baby? - Oh I wish I did!
I'm not an easy sleeper and suffer sleeping difficulties, so I have to make a conscious effort to relax. In order to do this, I'll usually run a "movie" of my own making in my head. Each of the "movies" runs on similar lines, and features a central character who survives a terrible ordeal. Without these "movies", it would be very hard for me to sleep, unless of course I was exhausted, which tends to happen if I've been up much of the night. But even at that, there's no guarantee I'll sleep for long. There are times I'll just flake out from exhaustion and get a few hours much needed rest. But the fight for sleep is always there for me.

Nope, i dont carry any thought before going to bed. Usually i go to bed at late night as i do work till going to bed and my brain gets tired, so no chance to think about something and become sleepy. Have a nice time,

Hello Dolce, the best way to go sleep is to keep yourself from thinking a lot and instead just think less and relax. if you feel asleep, take the opportunity to lie die and make the nap because if you ignore it, would definitely make you hard to sleep at night. i know because it happens to me most of the time.

good day dolce_vita78, on my part here, i do also find it difficult to sleep during the night. especially that i am much more active during the evening. thus great ideas come across on my mind especially during the night, that is why i tend to sleep around dawn time. and sometimes, a much more better idea will cross when i laid down in bed, as a result, it will be hard for me to get my sleep.

When i do sleep, i just think of sleep only, everything should be delayed tomorrow.....that's why friends call me as a piggy because i do sleep a lots and rarely lose sleep. i think thinking too much before sleep is not good at all, you may lose your sleep also...

Normally it takes me 5 to 10 minutes to go to sleep, but sometimes my mind gets occupied with the incidents of the day or thoughts about the next day. It is then that I try yoga nindra which helps me to control my thought process and helps my mind to come at rest and peace. Within 15 minutes I start feeling drowsy and go to sleep.

There are times that my mind is still very active, i think about anything - happy memories, future plans, sad thoughts, etc. My mind just keeps joggling from one picture to another. If I get tired with it, I would pray and try to clear my mind. A friend once told me, that if we lie straight on our back and our hands on our side, its easier to fall asleep.

I have that problem too. when I go to bed, I can't seem to turn my head off, after all the stuff I've done the day before, or the things I'll need to do in the days ahead. Drives me nuts!

I really believe that the reason that I have a hard time falling asleep at night is because of the fact that I have a lot of stress in my life. When I am trying to go to sleep at night, I make sure that I say all of the prayers that I need to say for my friends and for the people that I've told I will pray for them on mylot. I also do think about the things that I need to get accomplished the next day. Finally, my anxiety creeps up a little bit as well. That is the reason that I actually do have to take medication at night to help me to sleep.

If a lot of things are racing in my head, I also cannot sleep no matter how exhausted I am. I just try my best to think of my happy place and will myself to just think and focus on that because sometimes the stuff that I need to do just keep on popping in. Praying also helps to clear my head.
