Do you ever wish you'd gone on a vision quest?

There are so many different possibilities for work, religious paths, etc. that it's hard to know what to do.
I know what are not the right paths for me. Ones with groups all the time. Teaching, I make the mistake of believing people either want to learn or they want to learn from me. Some don't want to learn from anyone and some, I'm the wrong teacher for. So I need a different way of doing things.
I think I'll be a lone meditator except for maybe once a month. I seem to only be able to stand groups of people once a month. I also think that I will take great pains to NOT teach anyone anything.
If I want to know something, I think it will be thru meditation and one-on-one with a teacher.

What do you mean by "vision quest" ? Do you mean one goes to a guide that tells him what to imagine in general lines ? Well , I tried that but not for find what I want to do with my life , but for another thing.
It was with my mother when she told me how to imagine a special crystal that has endless power I can borrow and use for everything I want to do easily and happily.
It did help me doing my homework and recharged my iron will.
If you meant something else , please tell me. I literally understand "vision quest" as a journey someone goes through in his imagination , looking for something...
About teaching , I have tendencies to teach privately and volunteer with helping my friends from the class doing the tasks we need to do. I like helping others and I like to teach one on one.

A vision quest has more elements than that. You go off into the woods or high on a mountain and you don't eat until you hae a vision. You might want to do a search, but you don't have to, just if you're curious.
Your Mother seems very wise. I wish my Mother had said something like that to me. But you're writing it now and I think I shall do that.
So far, students setting up times to meet with me and not showing up. Someone saying they want to learn and then you start to teach and they "don't want to learn that," but that's what they said they wanted to learn.

Yes , my mother is wise for reading the book of Joseph Murphy , "the power of your subconscious mind" , about 20 years ago , when I was only 10 years old and didn't have patience for homework.A long time before "the secret" came out.
So , the vision quest is a real journey in the wilderness ? I wonder what's the theory behind that. I'm sure one can learn about himself when walking in the wilderness and be alone. Maybe he finds out what are his limits , what his abilities are and so on...
Is there any scientific theory behind this ?

No, just thousands of years of Native American experience.

I just wish we had had better guidance counselors in high school. Both for me, and later for my children. I think my daughter has done better on her direction than I did or my son, but we all seem to take detours now and then.
I am a good social services provider. That seems to be the things I gravitate to. I do not deliberately teach people, but find that many do learn from me. I think that you may not know who has learned from you. I am of an age now that I feel less patience for people, I know that.

I don't have much patience for people either and now that the Dr. just told me that the one tumor in my lung is now three, I'm really not going to have much patience. My time on Earth may be ending soon. In 6 weeks, I went from one tumor to three. Even with doing as much as I could of what the alternative healer told me.

I was alone in what I wanted to do for a long time. Then I found more and more people like me.
