Sherman Hemsley, who played famous George Jefferson in one of my favorite sitcoms The Jeffersons, died days ago. Whenever I saw Sherman Hemsley, I could only think of George Jefferson. Funny how some actors and actresses are never separated from characters they played such as George Jefferson, Sheriff Taylor, Gomer Pyle, Archie Bunker, J.J. Evans, etc. Oh, the hearty laughs I got from watching The Jeffersons! Sadly, it appears the days of good and clean sitcoms are gone. Thank you, Sherman Hemsley, for the good laughs you brought into our homes! Hope you enjoyed the piece of your pie and have made up high into some good eternal rest. RIP Sherman Hemsley.

Yes all the good sitcoms are from back in the day that were considered clean wholesome TV. I did enjoy Jefferson's when it was on TV. I have even considered looking around to find this somewhere. We all know they have now moved on up to their big apartment in the sky.

Sherman Hemsley still not buried because of will. Can you believe they would let you sleep in cold morgue because of dispute over your will? - http://www.examiner.com/article/sherman-hemsley-still-morgue-while-brother-fights-partner-over-will

He played the role on several different shows, so we know people really liked the role. Sherman paved the way for other actors to discuss some of the important issues of the day that many considered important, but people didn't talk about with their families. He will be missed.
