It was lost you see, in dirt, grime, muck and just needing to be straightened. It's been a very long time since I've seen it, since the last time I lived here. I decided I was going to clean it today though and I did. I took everything off, gave it a good sponge down and then rearranged everything on it. I even took somethings that were in bags and tied it to the door handle of the fridge.
Odd, you think? Well it will make the person most likely to eat it see it and either eat it or let it rot like the rest of us..
I need to find the bathroom counter again actually... and keep it found but I need more to organize with. I SEE it straigthened though so I know what I want to get to help me on that mission. Also take my clothes from hanging on the towel rack and *gasp* put a towel there.
Maybe I should be off to see what else I can find?

I only found half of the kitchen counters. The other half could use a rearrange but I did just do that a few weeks ago. The kitchen table is in good standing as well, but could still use some more "reshuffling".
I found the bathroom counter, or part of it. I'll have to have organizers to find the other half.
Every time I find these things I show a family member! We both gasp in awe and stare for a bit because we know sure enough it'll be cluttered with things again!
It feels great to find things we thought we'd never see again, doesn't it?1 person likes this

It sounds like you are getting a lot accomplished. I will learn from your example and get started on all the things I need to do. Right now I need to straighten up the kitchen. It seems like there is always so many dishes. I hate doing dishes. But I really need to get to them and to the bathroom counter. Cleaning is such a pain but it has to be done.@SomeCowgirl (32189)

]All I can really do living here is scratch the surface. I still hope I can scratch so much of the surface I find the middle and dig until I find the house again!
It really is relaxing to me once I get into it, but I'm so lazy.
Dishes are so never ending. I take it you have no dishwasher? We have one, but oh I remember when I was the dishwasher!
I even have a scar to prove it!

I've never heard of a counter top dishwasher. I have heard of these rolling kinds, I've seen them when people who had one sold them. It like a roll away thing. Of course it's smallish but still bulky enough where it can't be easily concealed. Still I suppose it'd fit in a closet somewhere.

I am not sure if this link will work but this is what I was talking about. It's about two to three normal paychecks for me... lol

Keep at it, I'm sure you will continue to make progress. No, unfortunately we don't have a dishwasher. It would be so great to have one. I often find myself thinking about getting one. I think that the counter top ones would be easier since we don't own a home and when we move to different places they never seem to have one. But the counter top ones seem weird to actually work. To hook it up it seems like it would take the sink faucets up and there wouldn't be a way to wash your hands, etc or that the counter somehow would get a water on it, regularly from taking the dishes out. I will have to look into it more and see how it all works. Do you know of anyone who has a counter dishwasher?

I have two spare rooms that look like an episode of hoarders! My grand plan is to toss or donate everything in the rooms. Well, that is my stuff. My husband has quite a bit of tools and power equipment inside the rooms as well.

This whole house looks like an episode of hoarders albeit you can still walk through it.. but not as easily as you one could. I live with my grandparents and honestly I am trying to clean up my stuff (that I inherited) for them as well as for me. They need a little more room. Even so, there are somethings that aren't mine at all that will still be in their way.
The counter was just a "I need to make this look nicer, I see the potential" more then a need for anyone.

Must be something in the air. . . I found one of my kitchen counters this week. I often find the bottom of the sink. Bathroom is not too bad, but could use a good five minutes spent on it. My whole house needs help and it feels so good and inspiring when I do any of it.

Well if it is in the air, I hope it keeps coming back! I found part of the bathroom counter myself, and I need to find more. The foyer would be nice! I haven't seen that thing in any kind of organzied state in YEARS!
Here's to both of us finding more things we've lost!

Sometimes I get to this point also and I can just not take it, I have to take some time and clean off that area that is a magnet for clutter. One big spot this happens with for us is the kitchen table as we very rarely eat at the table. Sad, but true...
Anyway, that is where our coats get dropped off in the winter, mail gets put when we come in from outside, etc. So over time that stuff starts to pile up. I actually cleaned up a few days ago and I could see our kitchen table again!
It was an amazing thing to actually see the wood of the table!

We have a tablecloth on ours but basically the same thing. If the kids don't put their stuff on it, there's already stuff on it anyway. I've cleaned it up so you can actually recognize it as a kitchen table. If we were to have an impromptu dinner party, the only problem would be getting the food and preparing it, as the table could be easily wiped off. Of course We'd have to clean off the dinkins bench.
For the most part it's a Sh!it shuffle around here, but I figure if enough is shoveled...
How have you been?

Soundss like my house, except if someone tries to clean it (usual me) I get screamed and yelled at so I dont bother. They have their crap piled everywhere and I just leave it, I cant be bothered. Yet, if I have something sitting there its a different story.

It is a real big disaster here. A lot of the stuff can be organized and made to look better. I do what I can to make things look better. My thing is, the whole HOUSE doesn't need to look better but if certain parts can look better it can look more like a house and less like a warehouse of junk...
I don't touch a certain person's stuff for the most part to avoid getting yelled at.. My stuff gets moved or used sometimes and I'm sure I don't even really notice it. I know the other day something was moved and I can't be sure if it was me or if it was someone else...
