I have a hiccup just today. What's the natural remedy for this aside for having to drink lots of water?

A friend told me that whenever I get hiccup. I must get a bag where I can exhale and inhale again the air that I breath. Doing it a few times then you will notice that your hiccups is gone. Just try there's nothing to lose.

Thanks for the help. I will try it. And it's kinda funny because it's just like smelling a rugby in a plastic. ^-^

Some remedies for hiccup are gargle with water, pull hard on your tongue, and bite on a lemon. I also read have someone frighten you. Good luck!

I am always experiencing hiccups, and I know it is only temporary minor annoyance, but for some reason if it prolonged it may be a signal of serious problem. And because of these hiccups carbon dioxide should be retain so I prefer holding your breath for a while to relax your diaphragm and stop the spasms which cause the hiccups. other ways are: Drink a glass of water quickly, have someone frighten you, pull hard on your tongue, bite on a lemon, gargle with water, drink from the far side of a glass, use smelling salts, place one-half teaspoon of dry sugar on the back of your tongue. And for the medicine if really persistent you could take Chlorpromazine (Thorazine, Other medications used to treat hiccups include haloperidol (Haldol) and metoclopramide (Reglan).

Sorry to know that, it has many reasons too, some still unknown. Drinking lot of water helps. A sudden jerk on the neck helps, swalloing sugar or dry molasses without sugar helps, i had hiccups non-stop , for days, reasons could not be known, but licking a mixture of honey with ash of burnt peacock feather helped me.

When I have a hiccup I hold my breath for about 15 seconds. If I have a hiccup before the 11-15 second end, I take a breath and do it again, until there is no hiccup between those 15 secs. Drinking water also helps!
