Are you contented with your life now? Happiness is gained when one is contented with what he have. It's easier said than done, right? Nowadays people tend to spend lots of money for gadgets and different luxury in life that will make them happy however there is still something that can't satisfy their happiness. Material things will make you happy in a while but not for long. Why is it so hard to be contented anyway?

I would say that I'm content right now but there is more that I hope to do that will make me truly fulfilled. I have a recently found girlfriend that I am madly in love with and she feels the same way about me. I get so much happiness from being around her and nothing really matters as far as meaningless everyday frustrations or struggles. I feel like I may have found a partner and she is so wonderful. I do have a lot of other goals and dreams though that if I were to achieve it would help me feel more content. I do enjoy what I have right now but I hope to get a better job so I don't have to work two jobs and then I can have more time with my family and can eventually support a family of my own in the future. I want to be able to continue my schooling and would be overjoyed if I was successful in my ultimate goal of starting a nonprofit organization aiming to help grow more food and raise money for positive things that we need. Other then that I would love to be able to own my own farm and help provide for a hopeful future family. I think it's hard to find contentment because a lot of our goals and dreams take a lot of work and there are so many variables within life that you can't predict. So many things can set us off our path to what we desire and unless we are truly getting what we aim for we are never going to feel quite as content as we'd like to. I also feel that a lot of people find it hard to gain contentment because they are looking for it in material things which only last so long. When we become grateful for what we have we end the obsession with what we don't.

That's wonderful to hear, I'm glad you are on the right path now, unfortunately it takes us becoming ill sometimes to realize the error of our ways. I had the same problem and was having so much aches and pains that I eventually visited a doctor from India who is now a very close personal friend and through beginning to care more for my health. Doing so also helped me to really get a better attitude towards the small things that bother you but don't really matter that much. I hope that you can continue to live healthily and happily.

I'm so happy for you jambi that you have set your goals and priorities in life. Some people tend to aim more because they don't have the proper goal setting. They do not no when to stop and so they continue to go and go until such time that they get tired then give up. I wish you more success and hope that you will reach your dreams in life.

I have certain goals I would like to achieve, and certain problems that need fixing, but at this point in my life, i am very content. My family is healthy and we get together every now and then and interact. Finances are hard, but not unmanageable. I am away from a lot of the drama I was experiencing in my past. Things are by no means perfect, but I can deal with them.

That's great PhillyDreamer. Being positive in life will bring us much closer to our goals and the negative vibes around us should be an instrument for us to strive harder and keep on going.

It's the only way I can function anymore. I find when you spend too much time dwelling on the negative things in life, you set yourself up to fail. If you stay positive and keep working, eventually you will get somewhere.

Hi, jakie: Contentment and Satisfaction in life, Depends mainly on the internal and psychological sense of the people, There is a difference between greed and ambition of man, a calculated ambition, but greed is the underlying desire to have no borders, no restraint and lead to failure in life. There are hair thin between ambition and greed, try not to cut. My best regards

thanks taheraa. Greed will really break people. No matter how they strive for the best, they will never be satisfied because they envy others.

Hmm... Well, I would say "being content" is relative.. :) I am not sure being humans, we can ever be content with our lives. In my case, I would say I am pretty happy with how things stand in my life right now. I have a really supportive wife & a really cute (handsome) little toddler. Our lives are completely revolving around this little toddler & he takes up every ounce of energy we have. But, I really would not want to trade anything for what I have right now. Having said that, I do have some wishes, silent prayers that still need to be fulfilled to make our lives a lot better. One of them is being deployed internationally to face new challenges & take up new opportunities... I am just hoping this little prayer/wish would come true.. But, besides that, I am fully content with my life... :)

Hi, At some point of my life I can say, I had been contented but everything doesn't stay as they are. As time passed by I started to realise that there are some things in my life that are still missing and I can't seem to phatom what they are. It makes me want something more and I can tell that they are not material things. Have a nice mylotting. :)

Hi paulli. The important thing is for you to be happy with what you are doing. Life was never been easy but the hardships that we go through will make us strong and be determine to go on and achieve our goals. Patience is a virtue. Just keep on believing that you will surpass all the trials that may come your way. Godbless

i am very happy and contented with my life at the moment. material things are nice but they are just stuff that clutter up your life. i don't need nor do i want the latest gadgets (maybe except an e-reader) and i am very happy to shop at thrift stores for clothes and other things that i may need. i use the library and get books out at least once a week. i get my movies from the library too (all for free!) to be contented, you have to be happy with everything you have already.

For me, I guess I'm contented with what I have now. I'm happy when I see my husband and my son healthy and happy, too. However, I'm worrying about our future especially our son's future. Maybe, when I already have a stable job, some money at the bank, and a good education for our son then I can say that I'm already contented in my life.

I am very content with my life right now. I have an amazing husband, 2 amazing beautiful daughters. I am healthy, I am living comfortably, I like where I live. The only thing I need is my Mum back as I am still struggling knowing she has gone. But I know shes somewhere watching me which brings me peace. I have some great family around me too!!

I am so happy for you angelsmummy. You are really blessed having a wonderful family. I lost my grandma recently and just like you it's really hard to accept the fact that they were gone but the good thing is that they left us with great memories and lessons in life that we can also share with our kids.

yes friend, i am totally contented with my life. I am totally happy for whatever god has given me. I am not a materialistic person, so i'm easily happy and am not a materialistic person, so i'm easily happy and not worried about not having the best of the things in my life. rather, i'm so happy that i have the best people who love me and care for me more than themselves in their lives. Life is very easy this way for me. You may ask why i'm here when i am contented with what i have. But then, There's a difference between working for the betterment of the life and not being contented. I am not going to lie telling i'm here for the fun of it, but i am here for money, but for the betterment of my future. I can't make a living out of what i get here, but this would still add up to its bits, using which i can get a small doll to my nephew, or something like that.
