Faking It?

My husband and I the other day were talking about all of my labors and what we remember about them. The good and the bad. Lol.
With my youngest daughter, when we got to the hospital they did not believe I was pregnant. Not that they thought I was not in labor they thought I was FAKING my pregnancy completely! I was like what? Are you kidding me? They made me try to use the bathroom which I couldn't. They finally believed me when I told them the baby was coming out of me, I felt it! They laid me down, checked me and sure enough they saw her head!
She was my easiest labor out of all 3. I had no pain, my lower half went numb from the nerve she was hitting so she came out within 20 minutes no problem.
Do people REALLY fake pregnancy and labor? Do they really fake it to the point of going to the hospital and saying they are having their baby? Have you heard of anyone doing this?

I have heard of people faking pregnancy but, never going to the hospital with a fake pregnancy.

Yeah I have heard of teens saying their pregnant and then they are not but to go to the hospital and everything? That is taking things too far. I don't have that kind of time to waste!

Besides the only two things I would EVER go to the hospital for is Labor or I'm dying. Other than that you won't catch me in a hospital! I HATE them!

Yeah, i have known people in school who said they were pregnant and really weren't. then they would say they had a miscarriage when you know they didn't cause they were never pregnant. I dont know why people have to fake things like that. Its very wrong, i mean if someone did have a miscarriage its so hard to go through yet, people will fake it just for attention its awful.
also, i am like you i hate going to the hospital.
so i take it you didnt gain much weight with your pregnancy that they thought you were faking it.

Wow, were you really tiny or something? How could they not believe you? With you being in that situation and in pain how did you restrain yourself from not yelling at them? I've never heard of anyone faking being pregnant at the actual hospital, I've just heard of them faking it towards their partner or friends for attention.

I was seeing a doctor in another state for the pregnancy. So it was an out of state case as they called me so I guess that had something to do with it also. They were too lazy to check those records in the other state...

I was pretty small but not stick thin small. I gained 11 pounds with my youngest, I was 135 before my pregnancy. But they could have checked first before accusing me of lying and trying to make me pee for 20 minutes!!
I was YELLING trust me. Lol. My mother and husband were also screaming at them. They finally listened and checked me when they saw her head. She had the nerve to tell me, oh you really weren't faking!! 
I was MAD to say the least!
Yeah I have never seen or heard of anyone taking it that far for attention. I especially have no attention issues so it was ridiculous.

I have heard woman faking a pregnancy but never labor! I don't know how you could! Some woman fake a pregnancy to get attention or they have some mental problems. What always gets me is hearing stories of woman who have no clue they are pregnant until they are in labor and a doctor says a baby is coming! Unless you are in denial or ignorant, how can you not know? How can you not feel the baby move? It doesn't make any sense to me!

Yeah I have heard of pregnancy too but never labor. But two nurses confirmed that woman do that all the time at that hospital! I have no idea how you can fake that. No clue at all. I was fuming mad though that day. Lol. I don't think I have EVER been that mad before!
The ones that don't know their pregnant, the only way I can see that happening is if they have medical problems already that are close to the same symptoms. Feeling sick, gaining weight, peeing all the time, etc. How they never feel the baby, I have no idea on that one although it does feel like a muscle spasm so maybe that is what they think it is...

i have seen many people do that since they do it to make others dumb or to prove a point in terms of labor work.so its not natural and we can easily spot those kind of people and they must be booked instantly without any care or inhibitions.this is a offense.i will really get annoyed and scold them for cheating like this with pregnancy

It is so crazy to me to do this! I have never heard of this before that nurse told me she thought I was faking it. I was furious at the time. I know I was small to be pregnant but geez! I was not lying about it.
I guess the people that do it just do this for attention. I am NOT that kind of person at all!

I wish my pregnancies and labor were faked. It might have been less painful. lol.
These were trained medical professionals right? How on earth did they think your stomach stretched that much if you were faking it? You would have had to swallow a watermelon whole or something to fake it that way. :)

Maybe for some who really want some fun or reached the point of boredom that they would really engage in such actions which can be very dangerous if not addressed properly.

Yeah I thought the nurse was out of her mind when she told me that but then another nurse confirmed that it happens every day at that hospital! I was like seriously?!?

I have heard that occasionally people so desperatel want to be pregnant that their body has all the symptoms but there is no baby.

Can't believe those health persons in that hospital, how could they not believe you were really pregnant? I don't understand why. I don't see any reason why they should not assist you as that is their responsibility. But still good for you you were able to deliver your daughter. But still some crazy people and stuff went on in that hospital.

Yeah, they told me people fake that every day! I was living out of town so my doctor was not here, they were in another state. I guess that had something to do with it. I don't understand it either. Once I started getting mean with them they finally took me seriously.
