With only 2 days left for the Olympics to finish, which has been your glory moment of this Olympics so far. For me there were two moments, one was Bolt's run in the 200 meters which secured his legendary status. The second was Mary Kom's first bout in the women's boxing which was amazing for the amount of action in the match as well as for the fact that it confirmed Mary Kom as a role model for women in India after punching her way to Olympic bronze two years after retiring from the game.
Cheers!

You will have to give me some time in order to think about this as there have been so many glory moments to savour. It makes the football look like a game for overpaid prima-donnas, which is what they are of course.
However, if I see the likes of Bradley Wiggins on Celebrity shows I shall be most upset as he said he didn't want the fame, just wants people to take up cycling seriously.
Rebecca Adlington has already stated she is up for "Strictly, Come Dancing" and I, for one, will refuse to watch it until she's knocked out!

Sorry yes, as he was the first to win a Gold to set the ball rolling, so to speak.

The amusing moment for me was when Bolt crossed the finishing line of 100m. 7 out of 8 athletes finished under 10 sec mark, making it the fastest race ever. The only one left out was a former record holder and fellow Jamaican, Asafa Powell. I was wagering Bolt to come first and Powell to be second.
Glory moment for me was when Saina Nehwal managed to win against Tine Baun and qualified for the next round. It was a great match!

Yes, it was one of the fastest races of all time but Bolt set the mark. I believe another fast race was the 800 meter in which David Rudisha won the gold by setting the world record. Apparently, the person who came in last had a time that would have won him gold in the past three Olympics, so it was such a fast race!!
Cheers!

That's exactly I was trying to point out. The standards of the game has become so high that even a one time record holder finds it difficult to win something.

Oscar Pistorius was really awesome. Though he made only the semis, he made a statement of human spirit which is way better than any athlete. I just loved his statement "My mom used to tell my brother to wear shoes and ask me to wear my prosthetic legs and I used to feel that these are just another type of shoes!!"
Wonderful spirit and that is the Olympic spirit for me.
Cheers!

Being a Brit, there were many glory moments for me, but I'd say the most outstanding were the two Saturday nights in the athletics stadium. On the first Saturday, Great Britain won three athletic golds in less than an hour - Jessica Ennis in the Heptathlon, Greg Rutherford in the Long Jump and Mo Farah in the 10,000 metres.
This was great after only managing one athletics gold at Bejing, and the scenes in the stadium were amazing. I was in tears, and even the BBC commentators were jumping up and down!
Then on the second Saturday, Mo clinched the double with a blistering run in the 5,000 metres. So many glory moments, but those two Super Saturdays really made the Games for me.

I watched with pride, with astonishment, beautiful and strong athletes, assembled from around the world in the name of an ideal of elegance. We throbbing rhythm track and field races, I screamed in fear and admiration of people seeing mountains lifting weights, I rolled into insane leaps of gymnasts and I cried for love and admiration when South African athlete with both legs amputated ran in all the other athletes in a race of strength and audacity. And, beyond the joy of seeing the most beautiful and most courageous people in the world, riding in evidence, I watched with heart in mouth and eyes in tears dance beautifully trained horses and wise, who, and when obey human orders, are as worthy and as free as when running with mane in the wind, in the desert ...
It was a show almost divine. And I'm sorry that nearly finished. And I it's hard now to watch the balance of beauty, to choose what I liked most of the great strengths of running the Games.

I have to say it would be the swimming performance of Ye Shiwen in the women's 400IM and Sun Yang's men's 400m Freestyle on the first day of the Games where the both of them came from an impossible medal winning position to win and break the Games and World records respectively. It was just electrifying and heart stopping to watch. Not forgetting, the men's 1500m Freestyle where Sun Yang who is the world record holder was competing against himself, had a seemingly disqualification false start and when the race finally began, led throughout the entire race.
The other one would have to be Liu Xiang from China in the men's 110m hurdles. Now, I think you may be surprised with this but I think this Shanghai born countryman has handed out an invaluable lesson about courage, the spirit of the Games and sportsmanship. Courage where despite his injury had never gave up his fight against this demon that had haunted him since his world record breaking feat and robbed him of his second Olympics gold medal chance in both 2008 and 2012. Spirit of the Games where despite the fact that he could simply limped into the changing room did not do so. Instead, bravely hopped on one leg to the last hurdle, kissed it and then carried on to the finish line. It literally showed that the Olympics is not a matter of winning and loosing but the participation process itself. True sportsmanship which was evident from all those competitors who were there where they were nothing but praises for him. Not only is he an athlete but he is already a legend.
I can understand the appreciation for winners like Usain Bolt but I think we should remember the ones that did not make it like Liu Xiang and many who had sacrificed so much and still had not win a gold medal.

Ye Shiwen was definitely a revelation of the Olympics. At 16 she has many more medals in front of her. I saw Liu Xiang and must say it was a heart breaking moment when he fell down at the first hurdle. But it was brilliant of him to stand up and limp on one leg and go through the race. I think the stadium was up and clapping for him when he was doing that.
Cheers!

It really is nice to have a good role model to look up to. I think it will lead to other women make a turn into boxing. I think it was the first time they have female boxing in the Summer Olympics. The highlights for me was watching Usain Bolt repeat as gold medal champion in the 100 meter, 200 meter and 4 X 100 meter Relay. It was really exciting to watch Usain Bolt. I hope he will return in 2016 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. It was also nice to see Michael Phelps break the total medal record with 22 medals.

Yes. Ram! Though I was not born in Bolt's country, I'm a great fan of him! He got the award of worlds fastest man! It is not such an easy task to do! Every athlete should consider him as god actually! Because he is having such an efficiency in him!
