or your afraid that you will see someone staring at you . I remember my old friend when we are still in high school we have a large windows on the second level of our house where we lived, we have lots of tress in the backyard and when she decided to slept over one night she ask me to close the window. And when I ask the reason, she is afraid that someone will stared at us or someone will go inside. I told her it is so high for someone will go upstairs just to stared us. I told her it's only her imagination.

I'd love to sleep with the window opened, but we have an air conditioner in it, so I have to wait until we are sure the temps won't go up too high before removing it. I can see her fear of someone getting in, except you were on the upper floor, as for someone staring,t hat is what drapes are for, the privacy..

Oh, so she had an unrealistic fear? then all you could do is close the window and perhaps open it after she falls asleep..;)

Since it is still summer here and it is hot. So we will turn on the air-conditioner to feel cooler. Therefore we will not open the windows at night. I love China

Hi, i like what you post here as i too at the same time did not close any windows or the balcony or the kitchen door. I live in a condo on the fourth floor. I checked around and i felt secure to open the doors and windows open. I also enjoy when the moon peeped through the window at night. As for your friend, if she earn income the honorable and right way there is no reason for her to worry about bad things to happen to her. I also have notice many times those who cheat on others surely one day it will be repaid.

Hi lyn! I think he fear s valid because nowadays thieves are coming like Spider-man and Super-man. When I talk about my home we do keep it open during summer. I mean the main door. Since we have a gate just before the door we use the grill gate during summer and the door will be locked only during chill time! Is the trees grown too much to hit the second floor? That also be reason for your friends fear! If that is the case not only Spider-man or Super-man even Moulee-man can jump into your house! So just be caution when your doors are opened and tyr to gill it when you have some time! Nowadays we can't afford thing due to silly mistakes that we do! Enjoy nature with safety! So that no loss more gain! Happy lotting!

I will only keep a window open at night if another adult is here in the house with me because I have the same kind of fear as your friend, that someone is out there lurking in the darkness ready to crawl through the window. It's nice letting in the beautiful breeze at nighttime, the air smells so fresh and helps me to sleep.

I will have the windows open, upstairs. I guess someone could come up on my porch room and come in, but I cannot see any reason that they would want to. It is too hot right now, but in the spring and fall it is really nice to have fresh air and sleep.

I do hope you closed the window for her. Unfortunately some men have nothing to do but to wait and watch for an opportunity to harm women, especially if there are no men around. Some of them plan ahead and carry tools, so unless you are in a fortress, I am sure someone with motivation would be able to get in. This is a risk even in nice neighborhoods. Any woman who has ever been stalked knows that for her it is especially important not to give signals of opportunity. Sadly an open window is such a signal. I wish it were otherwise, but in a world where one mistake can mean the end of everything, I strongly believe that it is better to stay on the safe side. A cool breeze is nice for sleeping, but one has to weigh the risk.

it's not that we are afraid of someone staring at us when we go to sleep but for security reasons, we shut all the windows during night time. we can never know who will get in through those windows. and even if they can't get inside through the windows, they might get some ideas how to get in when they have vision of the interiors. be safe.

Hi We are having metal roads on our window, so no one can enter inside even window is open. So that's not the problem. About staring, lol, I have never face any problem like that, and if someone want to stare, than I have no problem either. He he.. So yes I used to remain them open, but not all time. During winter time I close them, and during summer time I can have some cold air from outside at night from that window so it used to be open during that.

Hello lynboobsy11, I live in an apartment building, so of course I leave it open. If I were living in a house, I wouldn't leave the windows open, because I also fear that someone will try to get in. There are some crazy people out there and I don't blame your friend for being so scared.

I would personally never keep the windows open of my house. It can be a really scary thing to be honest. Not only the thing about someone watching you but it just can be scary itself. Also it is not that safe to keep your windows open.I would recommend everyone to close their windows at night just to be on the safe side of the things!Sometimes it can cause bad imaginations as well.

I will typically leave the windows open during the day when the temperature is a good temperature to have our windows open. However, I will typically not have the window open during the night. It isn't because of the fact that I would be afraid that someone would be looking in the window at me, it is more because of the fact that I am afraid that someone will try to get into our house and steal stuff from us. We will leave the windows open in the children's rooms because they are on the second floor of our house.

I preferred close the windows at night especially when I am in my hometown. I am afraid that might snakes come inside my room from the windows since our house is near to the sugarcane farm and lots of trees in the backyard. But here the city even though I am living in a building I close all the windows too during the night but open the curtains and let the light pass through the windows.

I used to keep my windows open when i slept but now keep it close. Just yesterday my sister in law was chatting with me on facebook and she said that a milipid bit my brother and they had to take him to hospital at 2.30am. I asked her how did milipid bit him and she said he kept the window open and it came inside. I am glad he is fine. Another story I know is that thieves are coming and spraying chloroform from the gaps of windows and doors. After spraying, they take their time to open the door of cut the grill of the window and get inside while the owners are on the effect of chloroform. Therefore now I keep the windows closed when I go to sleep because anything can happen. good day to you.
