You haven't really been away until you get home. Sounds silly, but think about it. It is the completion of a circle, and you're left with the memories and possibly mementos of your journey to enjoy in the comfort and welcome of the place you know and feel is home. While you're away things are possibly exciting, but certainly different, but no matter how nice it is or how exciting, it's not possible to really relax, there's something missing. Home. Do you feel that coming home is better than going away? Lash

No, I love the excitement of going away somewhere and exploring new places. Going home always brings a touch of sadness that a trip is coming to an end. I guess if I did not work from home it might be different. I don't know. I find it easier to relax being away somewhere else than I do at home. At home running a business and having a family to look after, there is always something that needs doing so I find it hard to relax. So I definitely enjoy being out and away from home much more.

HOME is where the GARLIC is...in abundance! The only thing I truly miss when travelling (usually taken away at Customs-quarantine)...as a clove or two, is part of every meal...

If you already know this song, please sing it for us: Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam, Be it ever so humble there's no place like home! A charm from the skies seems to hallow us there, Which, seek through the world, is ne'er met with elsewhere: Chorus: Home! Home! sweet, sweet Home! |: There's no place like Home! :| 2. I gaze on the moon as I tread the drear wild And feel that my mother now thinks of her child As she looks on the moon from our own cottage door Through the woodbine whose fragrance shall cheer me no more. Chorus: 3. An exile from home splendor dazzles in vain Oh, give me my low, thatched cottage again, The birds singing gaily that come at my call, Give me them with that peace of mind, dearer than all. Chorus: 4. How sweet 'tis to sit neath a fond father's smile, And the cares of a mother to soothe and beguile. Let others delight 'mid new pleasures to roam, But give me, oh give me the pleasures of home. Chorus: 5. To thee I'll return overburdened with care, The hearts dearest solace will smile on me there No more from that cottage again will I roam, Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home. Chorus: This song says it all.

I think I am more enthralled with the anticipation of travel, than the actual indulgence! I guess I'm NOT a good transplant..as home is where the heart is!

Although I have always enjoyed my escapades I have looked forward to getting back. I agree with you about getting ready to get away. The planning part is really absorbing and interesting.

When I am on my way out, out is better, but once I am out, coming home is awesome so I see exactly what you mean. It was a long time before I found a place that I felt at home in. I have to say that travel and moving made little difference then. I have been here, in this area, for a long time now. I wonder sometimes if it is that I found a comfortable place or if I have become more settled with age..lol.
