What do you do if your child is a picky eater?

My grandson does not eat much. Every time we eat he just stare at the food and walk away, though he drinks a lot of milk. He demands meat rather than vegetables. I don't want to force on him but it is for his own good. What suggestions can you give?

My grandson is a picky eater. We try to get him to eat atleast alittle of whatever we fix. If he won't then we give him a peanut butter sandwich or something pretty boring and never anything he really likes. It is a slow process but it has worked for us and he is eating some things we never thought he would now.

Yes, we just tolerate him even in small amounts.

Hi nita04, my nephew and niece was a picky eater before, they do not want to eat vegetables too and we can not force them because they cry very loud. They love to eat chicken nuggets, burgers, shanghai rolls and omelets, until one day my mom decided to make a vegetarian burgers, shanghai rolls, nuggets, omelets and even some fresh vegetables shakes for them I were very happy when we notice they always asking for the food made by my mom without knowing that was a vegetables and not meat. I think you should try it, it works with my niece and nephew it might works too with your grandson.

Bhebelen, you are right. I am trying to cook without him so that he can't see what I was preparing and try to persuade him to eat.

How old is your grandson? The younger the easiest to train. Don't give up on trying, just ask your grandson to taste a little. Sooner or later he will like it. If he keeps refusing never give up because when you let him win over you, he will always do that over and over again. Just tell him it is good for him. Show him photos of good body, body builders and tell him that those people eat veggies more and less meat.
