Do you guys have this habit or eating snacks RIGHT AFTER you have done eating lunch? yes, snacks and not desserts... just something to munch on even though you already have eaten. Well, I have met people who are like this and I can say, I am one of them... Why do we like munching even if we already ate a meal? What do you think guys? Are you with me?

Me, too. Often I looked for peanuts or nuts after eating a meal, especially when I ate spicy food. Or, when I don't eat enough carbo. I don't know what caused this...

so, we are kinda the same huh? well, i me,i think if we do eat spicy foods, we do wnt to clear off the taste we have and snacks can help replace the taste in our mouth. as for the carbo, we need foods which helps us feel full.if we don't eat more carbo, tendencies are to eat more food..

I cannot eat a lot of carbo in one go. In the past I ate 4/5 times a day, with a small child portion. Now, that I work, I can do that, so I have to adjust to eating 3 times a day. I still cannot eat a lot of carbo, so I look for snack especially nuts after meals.

If I am full already usually I won't eat. Most of the time when I am busy I forget to eat but because my father always with me everyday, he always remind me to eat and if I am not, he always tell me. He won't stop until I eat.

you're lucky to have him as a father. never wants you to feel sick because eating is a really important thing to give us energy and help us do things we have to do. don't forget to eat cause you can't focus much when you don't eat anything.

Annavi, when i was young i was very active eating. i always take snack, just right after i had lunch or dinner. My parents always complained and asked me to take good care of my health. They always reminded me that taking too much snack is not good for health. After i started to work and get married, my habit had changed. Because of too busy with my office job and even family life, makes me no time to take a break and have my snack. I am happy about it since i see myself able to shed a lot in the long run. Nowadays, it is much easier for me to buy clothes that i like since the size that i am looking for is always available.

myfb, it's good to know you have changed for the better. well, as you said there can be times people do just take snacks and never eating rice at the right time of meal should be taken. well, as we grow old, we get to know the importance of life specially on having healthy foods to eat. I'm happy for you that you get to experience and learn the value of eating the right meals and avoiding snacks. in the end, it's for your own good still...

I just had a late lunch, and it was a heavy one at that. Right after eating, I ate some sugar cookies. Yes it could pass off as dessert as it is sweet, but they were actually filling too. I too have that habit. I would always be looking for something to close off the taste after a meal, and most of the time a snack is what it takes.

I'm glad i am not the one who does this. well, my family does this as well. I guess we just like to close of the taste we had after the meal.like you said. sweet snacks can serve as a dessert. but if you have sweets like chocolate, it will be much better...

I guess you are a Filipino, and Filipinos like to munch a lot even if they are done eating. specially when doing nothing or hanging out with friends, walking down the streets. We all love eating, have you noticed it? Oh, just typing it, I want to munch on something...

Smetimes, when we are watching, or just passing time waiting for anything,we'd simply want to munch on something. Cause your mouth doesn't do anything. We simply feel like keeping them busy to avoid thicken"ng of saliva..

hello there, yeah, i think if we get bored at times, we just like to keep something chewing in our mouth to make us feel better. specially when you know, you have foods inside your house. but you know, there maybe times like you don't have much money so you don't buy much food, meaning you have to learn to be thrifty as well and used to not eating too much...

I don't have this habit to eat snacks after having the meal. Since usually I am quite full after the meal and I don't want to eat extra food. Besides, this is not good for the digestion. I love China

yes, it's not good in digestion so i do avoid that nowadays. anyways, it just happens when i feel like i still have to eat cause i haven't been full or there's not much nutrition i got from what i had in my meal.

I don`t keep snacks at home and only make some (not buy them) when company is coming. This sounds like anxiety to me. I went up 10 kilos (over 20 pounds) in a month after I quit smoking.

Ryou make snacks at home, marguicha? what snacks do you make then? we make some pancakes at times or even champorado. that's what we usually make for snacks at home sometimes. what age did you stop smoking? it is good to replace smoking in food. you will live longer and healthier. as long as you eat healthy foods.

One of the reasons that many people feel compelled to eat a snack right after eating a meal is that they have eaten a meal with little or no nutritional value. So the body, (which only craves nutrition, not food) sends out a signal to the brain telling it to feed me. The logical side of our brain finds this confusing as we have just eaten and wonders why we are hungry. But we are not hungry, we are just lacking nutrition. So when we give in and have a sugary treat or even some fruit as a snack, then our body gets a short burst of energy which mimics the sensation of getting nutrition. This leads to overeating and obesity as the situation spirals out of control. Most obese people are actually malnourished. We often think of malnourished people as starving skinny kids in Africa, but in reality, they are also in western societies that eat too much junk food with little nutritional value.

hello rawbill! you have a point there. some people tend to eat more junk foods which means it has less nutritional values, so even if they are fat they are somehow considered malnourished because they lack nutrition. Am I right? I know not all fat people are healthy and most of the time they are more prone to sickness. We should all watch what we eat and take care be cautious to our own selves and watch what we eat. But of course, there are times we find it hard to resist those junk foods...

Hi annavi: I must admit that I was the kind of guy who loved eating snacks before lunch but I think that was not good because I eat more than I need. If I just can't resist I drink some water before lunch. If you do this after some weeks you won't feel that hunger. ALVARO

Hello alvaro, i agree if we keep on drinking water, chances are we felt like full and eating may not be done. I guess we just have to eat what is right food to eat to be healthy as well and avoid too much snacks when we really don't have to eat. Thanks for sharing...see you around!

hmmm...walk after lunch? isn't it bad to do that? well, i guess it can help you with your digestion by doing so. just don't walk too much cause i think it will feel pain in the stomach... but there's nothing wrong in eating snacks if it's only one piece, right?

Hi annavi23, there are times that I eat some snacks right after eating especially during weekends with my husband when we are in the mall. I love to eat donuts after eating because its sweet and makes me happy.

so, you likedonuts, belen huh? what kind of donuts flavors and brand is it that you like most? I seldom eat donuts now. butbefore, i always like sweets. nowadays, i don't eatmuch sweets. depends on what food is it.if donut is free, i would absolutely grab a bite. i like ice cream or cake more than a donut. but then, i'm always out of budget for that. if there's extra money, i'll grab chocolate at times..

Someimes boredom, stress and depression allows us to eat more than we used to. That's why chances of being obese is getting higher. We have to move forward to avoid much eating...

Well I do not have this surprising feature in me. And I do not think I actually know the reason too. May be it is psychological and you are habitual to eat less in your main meals to give space to have snacks. Once you have started liking this it has become a habit of yours. As far as I think it is only your mind that can remain hungry even after having a full tight meal and not your stomach. And your mind gets this satisfaction once your have that bite of snacks inside you.

Yeah, I know it somehow is not healthy. But if you feel like you still isn't satisfied with what you have eaten, tendency is that you want to munch on something. right? anyways, does eating fruits can help when the stomach is empty?
