A lot of people know what my job is. Well since I've had fewer hours I only go to ONE register every night. Except sometimes they give my register to someone else. Sure it might sound really like it shouldn't bother me but annoys me to no end. I mean I don't see how difficult it is to say "Hey, she will be coming in today, let's make sure this register is open for her to use." I have to do chores, and doing it centrally from that register helps a great deal.
I don't know, some may think it's really crazy but I was so mad I wanted to friggin yell at them.
How do you feel when your normal work environment changes?

I HATE change! I think that if people have some change but usually have the same rules and environment to work in they can do a much better job. I am thinking of the last job worked. It was complicated and complex. I would have hated to be moved and have the same people and environment to work in. They say change is good and I have been able to handle it pretty well but I DON"T LIKE IT!

Years ago, before I was diagnosed with bipolar, I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder related to change. I couldn't take it and would literally get moody and depressed. Luckily I'm not like that anymore, but I still get moody (Bipolar) when change like that happens.
I was first irritated when I was promised a position and never given it, that's one reason why I asked for fewer hours. Now I miss my coworkers, but not sure when i'm going to up my hours, HOW I do know though.

You really have to do what works for you. It sounds like you have found a way of doing things that works well for you.

Yes, I know some with this disorder just can't work at all. I'm glad I can.

Well, this reminds me of a long ago incident at girl scout camp. After a meal, there were chores. Clear table, scrape dishes, wash dishes, dry dishes, put dishes away, etc. I hated washing, because it got my hands wet, and I didn't like the feeling. One day we drew, and I got to clear the table. Only I got called away to the nurse's office (my mom was the nurse). When I got back, one girl had done my job, and I was given her job, yup, washing. I got so mad that I punched her. Not her fault really, but I just felt like I had my ideal job taken away, and I was given the worst job instead.

That actually reminds me of a childhood memory in the dentist office where a hygenist (the nurse for dentists) was checking my teeth and poke my gum, and it hurt. I cussed at her, I forget what I said but she went out and told my Mom and grandfather (like tattle tale, I thought at the time) and I got in trouble for it.

We are creatures of habit and when a change comes along, it's very hard to melt into it. I didn't like any changes when I was working, unless it made my job easier. You get use to doing things a certain way and when they change it, you have to get use to that way all over.
Can you ask your manager to save that cash register for you on the days you work since you have chores to do which is easier from that spot? I use to ask if there was something that I really didn't like...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I do understand where you're coming from though, and it makes for a miserable day. Nobody liked when I was miserable..

No it wouldn't do any good. It's only happened twice. It happened the other day because they had an "on call" that they needed and sent to register 2 when she came in. Still I wish they hadn't of done that. It's over now though, and no use crying over it, but I am the same way, an irritable miserable SCG is someone you don't want to contend with lol.

They really have no incentive to keep you happy there, so they aren't going to respect your desire to have that particular register free for your work. The fact is, if you get irritated and leave the job, you can easily be replaced. Many workers are in positions where they are pretty much just cogs in the wheel.
Since I do a bit of freelance writing, my home is my work environment. That means I get furry helpers while I'm typing, and I get to deal with my boyfriend and his moods (and he was in a great one this morning

If they didn't have incentives to keep me they wouldn't be asking me when I was going to up my hours. Truth is they miss me, and I miss them... I was the one that asked for fewer hours because of my mood and becuse I did not want to lose the job completely..
It was a fluke, but a fluke I was QUITE irritated at.

My old job use to be like that, they would purposely do that to irritate me. In the end they were trying to get rid of me. I dont usually say anything as it usually causes uncessary drama, or they deny it all then make life worse. If I were you I would be applying everywhere else for another job. I know my old job was like that and in the end I got fired only because it irritated me so much that I flipped out.

They didn't do it on purpose, it was a fluke, but it's happened once before as well. I just hate when they do that. I have to gather bags, clean the registers, and straighten shampoo, then do a sweep around the registers. That is if they don't ask me to do put backs or clean bathrooms, neither of which I mind at all doing, I actually like to do that...
But the grabbing the bags is much easier if I stay on number two as I can go to the other registers, get the bags, so on...
I've flipped out there before, but it's been awhile.
